A long layover in Tokyo, can I do Disney?

So, I have to go on a business trip for work that will have me fly through Tokyo. I started looking at flights, and some of the cheapest ones would have me having a layover of like 15 or even 18 hours in Tokyo. I thought that sounded like torture.... but then I started thinking about it! Is there anyway I could pop over to Disney for the day?

How close it it to the airport?
How expensive are one day ticket?
How expensive would the cab ride be?
If I have a layover, I imagine the airport would have my luggage, which is fine, but I'd still have a backpack, which I guess I could get a locker for.

I'd want a shower after the day there, but then again, my next flight is only a few hours and then I could shower at the hotel there I guess.

Would it be worth it? Or too much of a hassle?

Approximately 35 miles; in terms of travel time, about an hour by bus. See https://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/platform_searches/index/2/87.

How expensive are one day ticket?

6,900 Yen for adults. See http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/ticket/.

TDR actually is located just outside the boundaries of Tokyo, but based on the taxi rates for a journey to the closest ward in Tokyo (Edogawa), circa 16,000 Yen. See http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/access/bus/.

Lockers at NRT - http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/service/list/svc_07.html.

Showers are available at NRT. See http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/service/list/svc_37.html.

I know many people who have gone out shopping/touring Tokyo on an extended layover so I don't see why Disney couldn't be an option... Depending on your timing, you could manage to do some Disney and still relax before your flight.
One big question - would you be flying in/out of the same airport? I only ask because if you are going to be switching between Narita and Haneda, you need to factor that and customs into your timeline (if you are entering Japan and then planning to do Disney). I have not flown Narita much but I know Haneda has a lot of options for extended layover (including hotels at the terminal) so it's very convenient to store your things and clean up before flying out.
Also, I know that some major train stations have busses straight to TDL - we took one from Yokohama to TDL which was nice! - and I thought I saw one at the TDL bus depot that said Narita so you might be able to shuttle v. taking the train.
Good luck and I hope you are able to enjoy TDL! It's a great place and a wonderful way to kill a long layover!

We documented the time it took us to get through the Narita Airport when we arrived in Japan on our most recent trip. It's obviously just our experience on a specific day and time and, thus, will vary a great deal depending on many factors, but we like to know what to expect as much as we can so we thought it'd be worth documenting. Our first hotel was in Yokohama so time to hotel is longer than It'd be to Tokyo.

Yes, you can do a lot in a day (see http://www.disboards.com/threads/belated-trip-report-tdl-solo-october-2014-now-with-pics.3407503/)

If it were me, I would look into both the Limousine Bus (linked above; I used that to and from Tokyo last time I went) or taking the Narita Express to Tokyo Station then hopping the train from there. Travel time should be similar, but the departure times for the train vs bus are different. Just be sure to allow plenty to time at the airport when you get back.

On the topic of showers, depending on the airline you're flying, many of the lounges also have showers. I know the Admiral's Club at NRT does.
