I have a few questions before I buy into a Wonder Jan 9 itinerary.

1) Where is the Wonder Jan 3-9?
2) Where would you stay in San Juan?
3) What do you recommend or ill-advise for San Juan if walking is not an option? (Dad can barely feel his feet)
4) What do you recommend or ill-advise for Galveston if walking is not an option?
5) Where would you recommend us to stay in Galveston?

We recently stayed at Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino in San Juan. It is beautiful and on the beach but not near either the port or Old San Juan. However, we found the taxis very reasonable (seemed to be $15 per trip just about anywhere we went). Does your dad use a wheelchair? Old San Juan is quite hilly and the sites are not close. Having said that, your dad might enjoy the San Juan Historical Site. It is a US National Park so if you have a NP pass, it is free. Not very handicapped accessible but there is a lot on the ground floor. Be aware that Disney sails from the Pan America dock, not the one in Old San Juan. You might also look into tours around the island.... probably dependent on hurricane recovery.

Galveston can be quiet nice, but with those restrictions it might be difficult. It is a nice old town area, but would require ample walking. The beaches tend to not be so nice, and at that time of year it will be chilly (I live in Houston). There are a few museums in the general area around the cruise dock. There is a place called "Moody Gardens" kind of a zoo like thing not too far away. It is a very touristy type place. as for a place to stay there are numerous hotels, probably all expensive in the area, like I said a tourist trap style area.

Also there is the Houston Space center, less than an hours drive from Galveston. That can be fun and quiet nostalgic now.

Wonder 3-9 Galveston, Texas; Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Galveston, Texas.

Will your father have a wheel chair or walker he will use?

Can not speak for San Juan. But at Galveston: We stayed at the San Luis resort (which is the hotel Disney uses) , which was okay but they messed up on the shuttle arrangement and it was not very nice on how it was managed. Resort is pretty big and the rooms are large so easy to maneuver in the room.

It was so cold when we were in Galveston, that we did not get out much so can not comment on activities to do. From the San Luis Resort, it would take a Uber or Taxi to get you most places in Galveston.

So do you think it would be easier or more difficult with a walker? He has only used the wheelchair 1 week in DC. He had a cold, I’m not thinking he’s going to be much stronger though. We thought it would be best since when we went on an Alaska cruise with DCL back in 2016. DCL had him walking too fast and he was so scared because he can hardly feel his feet.
In DC last summer, we only did three or four hour excursion and then back to the hotel to rest for the rest of the day.

only you and him can be the best judge what is best for him.

Sounds like a private car tour would be a good option, where they let you off at points of interest to do your own thing in your own time. Dad may want to sit on a bench and people watch whilst you wander around, popping back to tell him if you spot a scenic stroll to another bench.

What sort of things does he like seeing?

I'm afraid I've not been to these places so can't suggest a list of destinations to give your driver. TripAdvisor top ten things to do will help or you could see where the Disney excursions go and just arrange some of that yourself.

Old SJ and the forts are very hilly and require a lot of walking. There's always the beach
