Animal Kingdom Handicap Bus Stop Area Photos 12/2018

When leaving the Animal Kingdom Park and heading back to Disney Pop Century Resort, the first bus sign that I see is the main sign for all of the buses.

There are three rows of Disney bus stop canopies with Pop Century being one of the closest from the park. This is a lot better than being one of the last rows at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

This is the sign for just two resorts and Minnie Van drop-off and pick-up. So I head in that direction.

It is close to sunset and I see they have attached the rope seen at the bottom, so I will go mainstream through the bus stop queue until I reach the front row in the distance with the handicap symbol flag. Since this is not a gate and there was a short line when I arrived, I was a little hesitant to take the rope off. If I was blocking the way of others behind me, I would remove the rope with the handicap flag. Usually, cast members do this, but I wouldn't hesitate to unlatch the handicap rope with the flag and go through to the yellow line.

I am past the rope and I can see the yellow line that I can drive up, too. I also see in the distance guest in the front row where they will enter the bus.

I have mentioned this before, the bus driver's usually like you to wait at the yellow line until they wave you on.

I saw a Tram going away to the parking lot. I think that is the Handicap parking. I do member as the bus made a left turn, I could see the Handicap Parking Lot Signs all the way to the right and not in this photo.

.

Hope you reconnect the cord after you go through! Otherwise, some newbies guests might not know what that access opening is for.

Hi, DisnyOma. I did. I wish all of the parks and resorts used bus stops with metal fence front rows with the metal handicap gate instead of a rope. I like being able to enter through the gate mainstream and entering the area with another metal fence between my wheelchair and the metal fence to the front row that other guests continue to line up in.

Is that a Fold and Go chair? I’m considering on getting one and wanna see how they do in the parks.

Yes, it is and I love it. I rented one from Fold and Go Wheelchair at WDW to try it out and then I bought one.

It is the best purchase that I have ever made in decades and better than any mobility scooter that I have ever owned.

My heavy duty version weighs 55 pounds versus the regular one weighing 45 pounds.

It actually folds together from front to back to only 13 inches.

The super large wheels travel on grass and gravel. (No sand, of course, it would sink and get stuck from my weight.)

It is waterproof. Even the joystick is waterproof.

Yeah. I’m thinking about getting it and taking it on a disney cruise in 2020 since they don’t really allow scooters on the land excursions.

The HD purple one.

That is the color that I rented from them and they said that purple one got the most compliments.

I got the dark maroon HD one. I liked that color. My car was that color, too.

When I ordered it, they mailed it within two days in one box.

I was impressed with the packing.

The entire inside of the box was protected by about one inch of styrofoam protection.

The wheelchair was wrapped in plastic along with the joystick.

The only part that I needed to put together was the waterproof joystick. I liked the idea of them putting the joystick quick connect attached to the armrest for easy removal during plane flights.

I just turned the box on its side, slid the wheelchair out, took the plastic off. Raised the wheelchair. Opened the wheelchair. Attached the joystick. Push the power button and it was already fully charged and ready to go.

Let me know if you have any questions.
