Newbie here. I stopped lurking in this thread but luckily I received the email at 10:58am EST and then I had to wait another 40 minutes as the page loaded. I was sure I wasn't going to get in but I was able to register myself and another family member for the 19th at 9am. I received the confirmation email minutes after I was registered.

ETA: It seems there are some people who are able to get into two parts of the land, or am I reading that incorrectly?

Same. In at 9:58 am and email received at 9:59 am. We know it will never happen but next time how great would it be if people just waited until it went live rather than throwing everyone in a tizzy using old links and trying to backend into the process. Just calm down.
By going "live" do you mean waiting until the email arrived? Because that's the only "official" way of knowing it was "live". And if that was the case then many never would have been able to book at all. The only way anyone really knew it was able to be booked was to actually try out the links. I spent a couple hours waiting, looking at Chewie staring at me (even mocking me). If it weren't for these boards I wouldn't have known how to actually get through...by logging out, logging in, retrying link, clearing cache, etc.....my coworkers were happy I was done with all of this, lol!

But it wasn't an old link, it was the same link sent by the email just wasn't live live, you know, they were testing it and that's why some were getting through
In this day and age of immediate info, and with situations like this, when it's a limited time for a large group of people it's going to happen this way.
No one knew it would go live at 10am, so how long would people have to wait to try?
I’m glad a few people got through and booked earlier. Otherwise, I might have missed the whole thing. No email invitation for me.

Yes, thank you for this board. I know it was trying for many weeks but we never received the email invitation so this board was the only way I knew and I cannot wait for my 2 day trip in a few weeks!

There were 3 options: the land and the ride, the land + ride + Oga’s Cantina, and the land + ride + Savi’s workshop. Based on the time you gave(about 11am) I think the Oga’s and Savi’s options were already sold out. Or it could have been you accidentally didn’t see them, but I would bet on them being sold out.

Can't speak to DHS specifically but at DLR, we had wristbands color coded with times/dates written on it. We initially took our confirmation to Launch Bay, got wristbands, waited in queue 1, then escorted to the land while holding our bands up in the air. The general idea is that bands are check during your reservation time (ours was 8-12) and after your time is done, you are no longer allowed to be in the land. Theoretically, you'd be turned away from the ride, dining, stores, etc but some people said that stores would let you linger a bit longer (ahem, $$$). But really the big thing is the overlap time for the ride since most people rushed to the ride so that last hour of our time was not worth it to wait for MFSR.
I must say I am jealous of your ability to reserve Oga's and Savis. DLR did not have that option and we basically had to run, I mean walk calmly and in an orderly fashion, for either option.

I can’t remember which vlogger it was, but someone commented that they were eventually ushered out of the shops. I wonder if they’ll do something similar here. It would be easy enough to have the different bands for the different time slots. Heck, our local fairs do that so people don’t try to come back the next day for free.

Hmmm, so did you wait until you received the announcement/ invite email to sign up, or did you use a link from here? I have been an AP for years & have never been able to get in on one of these events. If I receive an email, it doesn’t come til the event has been open for hours. Usually don’t even get the email, never got one yesterday. Because of the great posters here, I was able to get my family signed up for our first special event ever. And I appreciate that so much.

If this bothered you so much, maybe next time don’t read these types of threads & wait til Disney sends you a link. But please don’t discourage others from sharing links & whatever information they can. Some of us need those links & the sooner the better.

I can finally say a BIG thank you to @Haley R and @yulilin3 (of course, as always!)
I saw your posts yesterday AM, so I pulled the screen up and let it sit and it auto refreshed around 10am and I got my first ever AP preview spot. :) (1st time AP since March)
I had to make sure I could get my flights, already had Pop preferred just incase.
Got my flights just now, so DS7 and I will be there for Aug 19th 5-9.
We have a trip planned for Nov as well, and just went for 4th of July, and Spring Break, so definitely getting our AP use. 8-)
Now to go join all the planning groups! (Squeezing in MNSSHP too)

What's weird is I got the "register now" email but I NEVER get AP emails.

Meanwhile, my friend who always gets the AP emails (and then forwards them to me), never got the register now email.

It's all a surprise.

I’m registered! Going 8/20 @1pm ALONE! Anyone else making the trip alone?! Let’s be SWGE buddies!

A GIGANTIC thank you for all of the tips/info on this thread. A special shout-out for @yulilin3 I was finally able to book thanks to all of your assistance. However, in my haste to book, I accidentally booked the ride only, and not Oga's. Ugh! I assume this means we cannot enter Oga's?

I am so happy to see this. I was just reading through all of the posts from yesterday and can imagine what everyone was going through. It made me smile as I saw one by one that people were getting in. I kept looking for yours (the avatar really stands out) and wasn't seeing it. Congrats to everyone who got in! Unfortunately, our trip ends a week before the previews started so will just have to wait until March. I am looking forward to all of your posts about your experiences.

I actually received the registration email and could have booked a spot, but unfortunately my AP expires a week before. 😢 :eeyore:
We are not renewing, so I didn't actually register. Big congrats to all those who were able to get in, ENJOY IT and let us all know how it is!:chewy:

This is our first AP event too! We just became APs for the first time last month because we moved to Florida. I’m so excited for this event!! Dh is even more excited since he likes Star Wars more.

We don’t have a specific thread for it, no. I’m not sure how much Dh will want to meet up with people because I’m sure we’ll be wandering on our own, taking everything in.

Same. With DD we just kind of go with the flow and her mood/hunger status :)

Big thanks to yulilin3 and the other moderators. We gave him an impossible task of deciding which posts were OK, but a little off topic and which posts were so off topic they were worthy of deletion.

Early July we were given speculative dates for AP previews. Pretty close. I gave it a shot and booked SW air and a Disney hotel. He was on top of the early link opening and the official release..
I was able to get the date/time I wanted.

Guest relations was able to add a day in front of my reservation and drop a day at the end while keeping my AP rate.

THANKS AGAIN FOR helping us navigate a stressful few weeks.

Thank you all, too!
My mother got us in, I think for the 21st but there hasn't been a confirmation email. Just an order # that we screenshotted. We have bad wifi because we're in the parks today, so it's entirely possible something went wrong.

How would I know if we really have the reservation?

I haven't had time to read the thread today so apologies if this has already been answered.
Actually now I've read back, I'm going to look for the confirmation in spam. Thanks all!

That's probably why my screen link didn't work but my mother's did (clearing cache and logging out and in, didn't think of that. Going to try that for the magic band upgrade, too and see if that helps).
