My friend is telling me to go to Beaches and Cream and order the Kitchen Sink. Evidently an actual name to a dessert. Can any one elaborate on this? ...She seems to laugh everytime she tells me to promise and order it. of course, I will be able to see it on the menu when we go but would like to be prepared a head of time.- Imagine that!

Yes, our group of 5 had it and could not finish it. This was after eating a meal. It has 7 or 8 scoops of ice cream, all the toppings they offer, brownies, angel food cake, nut, sprinkles, and a WHOLE can of whipped cream. I'm sure someone has a picture they can post. Cost is about $24.

There it is:

I don't know how much I could eat, but I'm thinking they must be fun to prepare. Q: "Hey boss, how do I know when there's enough whipped cream on the kitchen sink?" A: "When you hear the sputtering sound from the can!";)

My family of 5 always splits one on each of our trips. Often, our 3 kids come home at night letting us know that they spit one between the 3 of them.

I've since been dx as t2 diabetic... so in the future... it will have to be shared by just 4 people... my kitchen sink days are over.

We were there last week and saw a couple eating one. They had asked for extra plates, taken off all the toppings and were just eating the ice cream our of the "sink". When they left, they had the waitress bring plastic containers and took the toppings with them. It looks good, but I know DH and I could never finish it by ourselves. Maybe we will try it somday when we have children to share with.

On my last trip, I saw 2 boys about 10 or 11 YO order one for just the two of them. I was stuck in a very long, slow line for carryout. So I got to watch the two of them attack it and eat like there was no tomorrow. :hyper:

By the time I left, they had devoured quite a bit of it. I couldn't believe how much of it they ate. But they were starting to look kinda green. ::yes::

We've 'eaten' the Kitchen Sink on each of our trips, though we have yet to finish it entirely. We always start off strong but the brownies, cookies, fudge, etc starts to slow us down somewhat. It's a food tradition somewhat, and we look forward to the challenge on each Disney trip. This is from a family of 5 (DH,DW, DS9,DD6,DS4)--who knows I'm hoping we'll finish it one year; otherwise we'll just keep going back until we do. Then we'll think of another reason to return....

We had it on our christmas trip there was 5 of us and we did finish it and it was our lunch that day

It looks incredible!! I love the idea of eating it for a meal!!
We may do that for an early dinner and then snack later in the night.

Waiter bring me a BIG spoon, I wanna eat it all myself!! hee hee:crazy:

When we had one - it had a lot of mint ice cream in it and we are not too fond of mint (at least as much as they put in this) I don't know if they still do this or if you can request not to have it. I might get this again if you can get this without the mint.

Dh and I ordered it last trip, and probably will in the future. It's so much fun when they flash the lights and make the announcement, then everyone claps. We made a pretty good dent, but didn't touch the brownies, cake, etc. Thanks for the tip about the plastic containers to bring them back. We always stay in a Villa, so have no problem with refrigerating left-overs. Great idea! Thanks!

Does anyone know if bananas"YUCK" are included. If so can I request to not have them as a topping.

Thanks

We saw one being made last week as we were eating at the counter...and that's exactly what happened!!!! :D

When we ate at Beaches n Cream in May for the first time, they started flickering the lights and we were thinking "what in the world is going on??". The waitress who brought out the kitchen sink fo the table next to us said "These three little piggies are going to eat the kitchen sink!". It was funny.

We ate our whole meal and a No Way Jose and they were still hadn't made a dent on the Kitchen Sink. The No Way Jose ice cream is REALLY good, by the way :bounce:

We got one for lunch on our last trip. Our six year old was thrilled to get a huge sundae for lunch, and our two year old didn't really understand what was going to happen until they put it down in front of him. The looks on their faces were worth the price all by themselves! By the way, all four of us could not finish it even though it was our entire meal.
