MAYBE A MAY TRIP?? 3 WEEKS SAPPHIRE FALLS 2021

Well said Carole........ so many people proclaiming to know how this virus works.... too much negativity for me. I get that my August trip to Universal most likely won’t be a go.... ( everyone keeps reminding me) since my dh and I can’t self quarantine for 14 days when we return. Not sure if the borders will be open or if we have travel insurance.......But we will definitely rebook ASAP. Thank goodness for your pre-trip report Carole!!!! It’s a welcome read:flower1:
( sorry for the rant)

Brenda

lol....rant away Brenda...think we all need it at times!!!

I think it`s making out we are all idiots if we don't all join in the doom and gloom that gets me.....

Yes, you`ll get rebooked if it doesn't happen, as will we all I`m sure (I`m already looking at May next year...ssshhhh) and the border situation and travel insurance will sort itself out in due time!!

Good to see you.....:wave2:

Now that is one fantastic room!
Super views!

bet you could see me waving to you from the other side of the lagoon

Hope you get this suite again !

I skim through posts that have the negative comments as I know when I see yours, it’s all happy and upbeat.

Very refreshing to read your posts!
Very informative and upbeat.

Quite enjoy seeing all pictures in your posts.

The suites there are fabulous!!!

And yes, I probably could see you waving from across the lagoon.....might need binoculars though.......wait, on second thoughts that would look mighty dodgy gazing out of windows into other folks windows with binoculars...…..don`t want a reputation of being a peeping Tom!!!!

You know me....always upbeat and positive.....until I`m told otherwise this trip is still going ahead, and if it doesn`t....well there will be others...... :thumbsup2

Totally agree with you!!!! It's amazing how many people are now Covid-19 and Disney "experts"... :rolleyes2 And I also scroll past all the "experts" and negativity... Don't need it... My glass is half full!!! And I've even snoozed some of my friends on facebook because I'm tired of reading all their "expert" posts...

Those suites look amazing!!! And wow on the views!!!

Our state is one of the states that is opening up... But only 77 of the 99 counties are allowed to open, the other 22 have to stay closed... I live in one that's still closed... I'm ok with it... I'm working from home and my husband is an "essential" worker so he just goes to work and comes back home... Social distancing is easy for us... We don't mind spending time alone...

Yes, I`m a glass half full person too and don't plan to change anytime soon......I haven`t the energy it takes to be so negative....and yes, the "expert" opinions get a little much.....

That`s lovely you can be ok with spending time alone together. It certainly helps if you`re that type of a couple.....and if your county is still closed, it sounds as if it`ll be a little time yet before your social distancing is over.

I have two friends who are struggling a little with it all...one is on her own and has a few problems, and one....she makes me laugh as she is used to her husband being home only three months a year and spread out over the year, due to where he works.......he`s been home solidly now for 8 weeks and attached to her like glue.....but we do what we can on zoom for them!!

Glad you`re still reading along too..... :wave2:

Sweet fancy Moses that is a nice room with a view! No wonder you miss it so. Sorry you are not there right now, but September's only 5 short months away!!

lol......never heard sweet fancy Moses before.......:rotfl:

Yes, the views are lovely there....

Yep, September or if it’s December or even next year......we’ll still look forward to whenever we can get back. Although the sooner the better.......:thumbsup2

That's like only 1 week a month that her husband is home... And now he's been home 8 weeks straight??? I bet this is a HUGE adjustment for them!!! :scared1:

A friend of my sister and brother-in-law, works on the oil rigs out in the ocean off the coast of Africa... He's 1 month on the rig and one month home... He's been home now 2 months in a row... His wife is ready for him to go back to the oil rig... :rotfl2:

lol.....yes, he’s usually home for three weeks four times a year, and she pops out there too for visits, but this is the longest in about 20 years they’ve spent together apart from longish vacations......Tom used to be his boss and said he feels sorry for her as he is a “lot of work” heck of a nice guy, we like him a lot but he has OCD and a few other habits......she’s doing fairly well though!! Their home sits in a lot of land, so she walks the dogs a LOT!!!!

I can imagine your sisters friend is in a similar position......lol......

I think Tom and I are fortunate we’ve always spent a huge amount of time together, so it’s not unusual for us.....like you and your husband we love spending our time together ::yes::

Wow WOw WOW!!!! The one suite, gorgeous :scared1: and it even has a bartender. I think I know her from somewhere, Carla, Connie, Cathy, Carole something that starts with a C.:rotfl:

My favorite episode of a show I like, they got put in a Presidential suite and the son didn't want to leave, he wanted to barricade himself in and go out in a blaze of glory or something like that. I can definitely see myself doing that in the suite in your photos.

Social media, I don't do it, it's just too irritating at the best of times, right now it's unbearable.
I'm so used to working from home for the last 13 years that I don't miss people. In fact I'm not sure I even like people any longer....present company excepted.:rotfl2:
I do fine with taking care of my Mom, we get along quite well, speaking with some of the family on the phone(I can always say, oops I have an insurance, DR. etc calling gotta go.) so I'm good. I know I'm so fortunate to be working and feel so bad for those who are not but my job is so highly specialized not many out there could step into it. I would like to have time to read trip reports, dining reports or even books but am just fatigued (all that partying I do, ya know) that I work, clean, cook sleep then rinse and repeat. I'm trying to support local restaurants as much as I can ,trying to help them out (which is my excuse for cooking as little as possible... that's my story and I'm sticking to it) or I'm looking at food in your reports and doing virtual eating....I can cook well but I just do not like to....so there...that's my negativity for today.
Hoping your trips happen, cannot wait to find out what the special surprise/event is!!

lol.....you make me laugh!!!!

I`m a pretty good barmaid.….or so I`m told...... :rotfl:

The suite with the balcony, we truly loved, although the Sapphire Suite is pretty impressive too and probably one of our favourite rooms anywhere. I love the colours, especially when you see so many hotel rooms that are basically brown. This just looks so vibrant and fresh.

Yes, no social media for me....no FB at all.....I know some folks reveal their whole life on it and share almost everything, I have a couple of friends who have it and use it sensibly and enjoy it, but it`s not for me.....too much drama at times!!!

Yes, people don`t always make it easy to like them.....and it`s nice to avoid some.....

I could work from home I think, and sounds good for you, especially if you`re specialised.....sounds fun!!! And you are not being negative at all!!!! Helping the local industry with take out is very important!!!! Even though like you I enjoy cooking, take out is very good!!!

Well, the December thing might be a let down for some.....lol....but it`s new to us......I really shouldn`t try and build things up should I.....

Well, if I couldn’t like SF more...

Talk about a sweet suite :)

wait, on second thoughts that would look mighty dodgy gazing out of windows into other folks windows with binoculars...…..don`t want a reputation of being a peeping Tom!!!!
Eek Stranger danger. Never thought of people doing that creepy stuff. Henceforth will find myself now glancing up at the windows when lounging poolside lol

We often combine a cruise with trip to MCO. A good set of binoculars is standard gear for viewing the island’s landscape when docking (a long, relaxing process, fun to try to pick out landmarks etc) from one’s balcony.

We pack them in a carryon that has secures the good camera & electronic stuff. Once when we forgot to put memory card inside smaller camera in the park, the mr went back to room to retrieve it, when searching, left out the large binoculars on stand near the tv. When we got back into room, I was mortified, convinced housekeeping deemed us pervs.

Seriously, I may swipe that saying lol

lol......love it!! Yes, when I think binoculars in hotels......hmmmm! I’d think the housekeeper would think that too.......But cruises, yes, I would take binoculars out on a cruise....wouldn‘t be without them I imagine, especially as you always have a nice cabin with a lovely balcony...

Stranger Danger......lol.....haven’t heard that in a while.....but, yes, makes you think.......::yes::

Carole, I've just happened upon your updated Trip Report and I am so so pleased! I'm thrilled you, Tom, and Kyle are well and keeping safe at home, although I feel your pain about having to cancel your trip. I've popped in a few times in the past eight weeks, but frankly, after having to cancel our trip to Universal in March, it was just a little too heartbreaking to come read the boards for a while! We were SO looking forward to our stay at RPR in a Club Level Room and visiting the parks you've described so beautifully. Alas, we will hope to go in 2021, but we are still smarting from the cancellation!

Loved reading your updates for your September trip - your plans sound like they're coming along fabulously!

April, I wanted to send you a message so many times......I was thinking of you and how you’d have to have cancelled your trip, but when you weren’t on the boards I had an idea how you’d be feeling.

I know how much you were looking forward to that trip, and selfishly, I was so looking forward to hearing all about it!!! I was so sad for you.

Yes, it is heartbreaking for you to have missed the trip, and I understand not wanting to come on the boards.....it takes time to come to terms with that.......

Yes, we are all doing so well......I’m happy we are altogether as so many families are separated.....I’m making the most of having him around all the time......lol......

I hope you and your family are also keeping safe and well.....it’s such a tough time all round.......but, I’m so glad to see you post here tonight......and I know you‘ll get rebooked for next year.....and I keep telling myself.....that’s not really that far ahead now.....as Kyle reminded me today it’s only about 7 weeks till the longest day......then it’s practically winter......:scared1:

Good to see you April......:wave2:

I did stop reading around the boards and other sites recently......there is so much negativity from certain folks who seem determined to educate the rest of us how they know everything and have all the answers.....and that those of us who are choosing to stay positive are somehow not as intelligent or knowledgeable as these self proclaimed experts.

Same here.

..I`m reading so many States are reopening in different time scales, so have no idea on them all right now

Yeah, it's strange how different they all are. NY seems to have a plan, but most places don't seem to be ready to open yet. And all the states have different businesses at different phases. I've been following FL with the parks and all and they never got as bad as areas of our state so they seem further ahead, but at the same time currently I don't think people from our state can go anywhere without being quarantined for weeks so we'll just have to see how it goes.

How airports are going to work is worrying! Heathrow bosses admitted there would be a KM long line for each flight if they had to social distance everyone!!!

I read an article about that the other day :faint:

Plan wise, we have planned about zero for September......we don`t usually plan much anyway, but until it`s clearer what will happen we really can`t.

Same.

From the outside looking in NY seems to be the most worrying so far to watch, and the quarantine is of course an extra worry, especially if you`re hopefully back to work by then.

So many things to worry about right now......you do right to wait and see.....but we`ll stay optimistic I`m sure...….:thumbsup2

.you do right to wait and see

I think that's all we can do. There are so many "What Ifs" and unknowns. I'm trying to take it one announcement at a time and I'm also trying to not makes too many guesses and predictions. I'm not a scientists or epidemiologist (gosh, can I even spell that correctly?!), so I'm saving models and predictions for them to make!

Pictures, reports all may seem trivial but to me it's a little bit of normalcy and hope.
I worked for an Infectious Disease specialist for quite a while and also a group of Pulmonologists for several years so I'm under no delusions as to how serious everything is.

But, one can only look forward, do what we need to do and hope for the best.
Thanks for your photos and all Carole.

It`s so true.

Right now it`s so up in the air, we can`t really make any definite decisions or plans......and yes, like you I leave it to the experts....

But, I d look forward to the day we can actually make a choice and begin to plan ahead......it`ll come..... ::yes::

We just pushed our mid June trip to the end of July. I hope we'll have a better idea of things by then.

Glad to hear you`re rebooked for later......yes, fingers crossed for that trip. So many have had to postpone and it`s incredibly sad.....

I think by then we should have a better idea of what`s happening.....hopefully!!!
