Anyone ever drive over to the coast for a beach day while staying at DVC? We're thinking about doing it this Summer and would like some suggestions as to where to go. Preferences are: bodysurfing waves (preferably on a steeper beach break), fewer jellyfish, showers, closer to WDW the better (but a great beach is worth a longer drive).

Thanks much,

Have you thought about hitting Vero for a day .

We are going for a trip in Aug but if I need to I will drive up to WDW for the day .

Why not schedule a night at VB? It seems to be about the same distance as any other beach area.

Our schedule doesn't allow an extra night. Are we allowed to pool-hop to Vero?

You need a room key to access the beach and the pool-so I don't think you could pool-hop. Florida has many beautiful public beaches-we had family in Jupiter-and spent many days at the beach there-but that's too far to make a day trip.

Unfortunately, No pool hopping. Maybe trade a night with VB. I know first hand that Cocoa beach south to Vero are great waves, (remembering that any day can be calm day). Cocoa and New Smyrna beaches both have nice public access setups.

If you ever wanted to take surfboarding lessons, they have them just north of Vero at Sebastian Inlet.

Love to ride the waves :cloud9:
