Best Disney Pixie Dust You've Ever Received??

A few years ago we planned a trip and invited my son's friend. We booked a standard room at the Beach Club. When we arrived and stepped off the ME, there was a cast member who greeted us and personally walked us inside. We were chosen as “family of the day!” It was so wonderful. We received balloons, they took a picture of us and then escorted us up to CLUB LEVEL where they were waiting for us with champagne. That evening we had an adr at chef Mickey and the boys opened the restaurant with Mickey and we were the first family served. That was a really magical vacation.

My wife is friends with a seamstress who has done work for Disney and Broadway in the past (if you're a wrestling fan, she also made a jacket for Diamond Dallas Page back in the day), and when she found out we were taking our 3yo daughter to Disney for the first time, the Snow White dress she was making us for Halloween that year became a gorgeous, sparkling masterpiece. Our first order of business at Disney was breakfast at Akershus. All the princesses made a huge fuss over DD in her dress, none more so than Ariel, who could not get over her "shiny scales". When it came time for the princess parade, Ariel came over from the other side of the restaurant, took DD by the hand, and led her throughout the parade. We were blown away.

Later that day, we were headed through Innovations West building and ran face to face into Rafiki and his handler. "Uh oh," I thought, "this might be bad." You see, DD had this thing with large apes, specifically gorilla costumes (I know Rafiki is not a gorilla, but she's 3, she just knows he's a giant monkey). We think it all stemmed from a Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick were attacked by a "real" guy in a gorilla suit. Freaked her out. Ever since then, she's been afeared of gorillas, both real and fake. And she wasn't really familiar with "Lion King", so I wasn't sure how she'd react.

She grabbed the autograph book from me and ran up to him. No prompting at all. Rafiki dropped to one knee, she ran up, gave him a big hug, and handed him the book. Full disclosure here, I teared up a little. Heck, I'm getting a might choked up thinking about it now. "I'm sorry Rafiki, we have to keep going," said his CM handler. Rafiki waved goodbye, blew DD a kiss, and they were on there way. I'm not sure where they were headed, but it was a little moment of magic that happened just for us. No line, no one else around. Just us, Rafiki, and a little patented Disney pixie dust.

At the end of that trip we were shopping at the ASMusic gift shop while waiting for the ME to pick us up to take us to the airport. DD stopped short when she saw one of the CMs hanging up pins on a rack, and out of nowhere started "helping" her hang up the merch. I tried to stop her, not wanting to give the poor CM more work, but the CM smiled and said she appreciated the help. So I let her be for a bit, then convinced her it was time to go, but not before the CM gave her a CM only pin for being such a good helper.

This summer, we're finally able to go back to WDW after years of health and financial issues. It'll be my youngest's first time. That, in itself, is pixie dust of the Nth degree.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but thought it would be a fun thread!! You can talk about anything that stands out to you: resort upgrades, something given to you for free, or even just an incredibly nice CM you ran into at Disney!

pixiedust:

This is my story: On our second family trip, we were monorailing back to our resort for a mid-day break. This was back in 2002, when you could still sit up front in the monorail. Me being 8 years old, this was all the rage, so of course we requested to be up front. We were walking into the monorail when all of a sudden, my dad's belt loop on his khaki shorts got caught on something and the belt loop ripped off. Total accident! My dad just shrugged it off and said he'd take it to the tailors once we got home.

During the ride home, we made conversation with the monorail driver, who had witnessed the small happening and had apologized profusely. Then, before we got off, he asked us what resort we were staying at and our room number. We told him, said goodbye, and went about our day. We ended up swimming at the resort and coming back to MK that night for Spectromagic and Fantasy in the Sky, not thinking twice about what happened on the monorail.

After coming back to the Poly late that night, we opened the door to find a brand new pair of shorts sitting on one of the beds, with a note from Mickey saying that they were free of charge!! We were floored! I actually think my mom even teared up a little bit because she was so touched. They even guessed my dad's pants size right and the shorts were identical to the ones he ripped! My mom says that she will always remember that story, and it has convinced her to book way more trips than she ever thought she would! Customer service at Disney has always been, at least in our opinions, second to none :)

My last DL trip in November, my best friend and i were celebrating our unbirthdays together, we were at DCA wearing our birthday buttons and about to go thru standby line on incredicoaster, when the cm working fast pass ushered us into the fast pass line, totally made both of our days, that’s for sure!

Disney pixie dust today, and we're not even in Florida!

It's DD's 4th birthday, and DH is in London for business. It's been low-key, just DD, her two brothers, and me. Chocolate chip pancakes this morning, presents (Tinker Bell dress from ODS), and a trip to the zoo. On the way home, we stopped at the mall so ODS could go to the Lego store. DD wanted to go to the Disney store where I found some clearance odds and ends.

All the store CMs greeted her as Tinker Bell. When we were checking out, DD mentioned it was her birthday, and the checkout CM immediately went and got her a Happy Birthday button and wrote her name on it. Then we were ushered over to the little video area, a Happy Birthday song came up, with Happy Birthday DD's Name on the screen, and all the store CMs sang to her.

Tonight I asked her the best part of the day. "When I got the badge at the Disney store!"

Daisy Duck stopped to hug my daughter DURING the parade. It was so unexpected and wonderful. It’s a memory we always bring up.

This was the same trip we were randomly upgraded to club from standard at Poly. It was an amazing, magical trip.

While visiting with our then 4yo DD we were in Pecos Bill's cooling off while the Electric Parade was going by. The place was deserted. DD asked for some milk so I went to get her a carton. I ordered just a milk and the CM said she hadn't done anything nice that day so she handed me a milk, no charge. I thought that was very nice. We obviously don't get pixie dusted often nor extravagantly, however her gesture was appreciated very much.

In 2013, we were pixie dusted (via e-mail, not PIN code) with Free Dining for our first onsite stay, even though our dates and resort were excluded. Through a series of e-mails and phone calls, I was actually able to speak to the cast member who made it happen. I also put our four children on speaker phone and had them thank Reese for the wonderful gift. It was our best trip ever and we will never forget her kindness.

Another time, we were given printed pictures of our Splash Mountain photos at MVMCP. We were dressed up as elves and looping SM, probably our 10/11th go round. The CM was waiting for us where the ride photos are displayed.

The first one I have is booking Coronado Springs for our annual December trip in 2015. I had the room book for months, and received a call that they had booked a convention at the hotel and would have to close the food court to accomodate them. Luckily, they offered to change my hotel to AKL free of charge and gave me 3 extra any ride fastpasses for every day we had tickets. It was a fantastic trip.

The next is kind of a reverse pixie dust. During this same trip, my wife and I were in DHS the day that the Star Wars movie released (The Force Awakens), and they gave out special BB-8 pins to guests and my wife and I each got one. We returned to AKL and went into the store to look for some stuff, and while checking out, the cast member asked where we got the pins we were wearing. I told her about them, and she mentioned that she was sad that she wasn't able to make it to DHS to pick one up. Well, we had an extra one, so I offered her the pin off my shirt. She was so excited she asked if she could come around the counter and hug me. It was a great end to the day, and I was happy to give a little bit of magic back to someone.

I emailed Disney Customer service to let them know that somehow a bunch of other families had ended up on our PhotoPass and I just wanted to make sure that they got their photos. (It obviously didn’t bother me that I had a ton of random people, ha.) I also gushed about how nice the photographers were at taking photos with our own camera. The customer service rep noticed we hadn’t purchased anything, so they sent me a code for a free Memory Maker! Now I have all these great ride photos with my husband making the same “why did you make me do this” face, ha.

I love this thread :lovestruc

I'm probably going to cry just writing this, but this was such a special moment to me and the perfect Pixie Dust:

About 8 years ago, when my step son (SS) was 12 years old he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. We were so fortunate that it was benign and he had surgery that removed it completely. He needed to have a fair bit of time off school afterwards to recover but the surgeon said that it would be safe for us to fly so we could take him to WDW to celebrate. We wanted to do something special for him for being so amazing through everything he'd had to endure.

On one of our first days there we were in MK and SS saw the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella and he wanted to get her to sign his autograph book so he went to line up. Anyway, they ended up chatting and he told her what had gone on. She gave him a huge hug, signed his book and we went on our way. Much later that day we were watching one of the parades (can't remember which) and there she was, it was the Fairy Godmother again. From her float she saw my SS, pointed, mimed "I remember you" and made a heart. Such a simple gesture but I was in floods of tears.

I think that SS, being a 12 year old boy was a bit embarrassed by this, but I could see he was touched too

Not sure why it gets me so much, but yep...crying again

This is just a little thing, but was something we greatly appreciated. Back when there was a nighttime parade at Epcot, I was there with my mom and we had staked out spots right along the lagoon to watch illuminations after the parade. However, we had to move away from the fence, as they needed to keep a walking path open behind the everyone while the parade was going on. While we waited for the parade to start, we go to chatting with a group of sisters next to us, as well as a CM who was there with the Disney College Program. The CM then told us that, as soon as the parade had passed, and the rope marking the pathway was removed, everyone would make a made dash for the spaces along the fence for illuminations. Since she knew that we had already been there waiting, she said that, just before they took down the rope, she would walk along behind us and tap us on the shoulder, and at that point we should turn around and face the fence so that we could get right back to our spots at the fence when she moved the rope.
