BW best use year for Epcot Food & Wine?

We want to book BW standard view (SV) rooms for the Saturday before the Veteran's Day holiday in November so we can be within walking distance to Epcot for the final days of the Food and Wine festival. But our home resorts are SSR and VWL and the BW SV rooms are always sold out for that week when we try to book them in April with our 7 month window. So we're thinking of buying some BW points.

If we can't get a December use year (UY) would a February UY work (9+ months before Veterans week)? Or do those SV rooms sell so quickly that we'd be wasting our $ buying anything other than December UY BW points?

What's your experience been attempting to book BW SV for Veteran's week?

Your post makes me concerned that you misunderstand use year.

Use year doesn't effect when you can book. It only effects when you have to use or bank points, and what UY's points go toward a reservation.

You could (and should) book eleven months out with ANY use year for your desired trip dates.

The ideal is a use year that begins shortly before your typical trip time- so if your plans changed you would have plenty time in the year remaining to use those points.

For your specific example of desired travel dates, this would be an October UY. A December UY would actually be the worst possible UY for your anticipated recurrent travel dates.

However, don't underestimate the benefits of having all your contracts in the same UY. With that setup, you can combine points on a single trip at the seven month window, without having to transfer between your contracts.
