Can We just hop off ship and go to Casino at Atlantis via taxi?

Hello, We would like to go gambling at the casino at Atlantis when we dock in Nassau on our 4 night Dream. Is this possible? I see I can book an excursion thru Disney for $66 EACH. Id rather spend that on gambling :). Will we be able to just take a taxi and pull up to the casino and get in to gamble or are there restrictions to guests of the resort only? We are Marriott reward members and would also like to see if this resort (owned by Marriott) might be a good place to actually stay in the future. any suggestions on how we can do a low cost tour of the Resort or at minimum be able to use the Casino?

Thanks for any suggestions!!

You can go to the casino via taxi, no prob. If you try to enter the Royal Tower lobby on foot from the casino to get to the dig, pools, etc you'll be stopped and asked for a room card or to show your wrist band. You do not need a room card or day pass in order to visit the casino.

$66 a head for DCL excursion to Atlantis doesn't sound right. I remember it being closer to $200 pp for adults. That being said, it would be a shame for you to miss out on seeing the rest of Atlantis. We usually book a room next door at comfort suites. It's cheaper and gives you Atlantis access for the day. Comfort suites lets you book a single night while Atlantis has a 2 night minimum. We are family of 6, so this is significantly cheaper for us than to book excursion through DCL or to get 2 rooms at Atlantis for 2 nights.

There are tons of options at the port in Nassau. Taxi, water taxi, etc. You will have no problem getting a ride to Atlantis. I've never been there, but I'm sure it's just as easy to get back. So many ships dock there, they are used to handling cruise ship passengers.

Thank you all! I think we will just plan on a quick trip over via taxi.

T&R. I see something called the "discover Atlantis Tour" for $68 per person. This will give you a transport and tour through the Aquarium, The DIG and Predator Lagoon. Then you are on your own to shop or gamble and return at your leisure with transports that are every 15 minutes. It sounds good but again I think it might not be worth the extra since its just me and hubby on this trip and we really just want to set off to try the casino and see if Atlantis is a place may want to spend a weekend. But its definitely an option to consider!

Just my 0.02, the water taxi takes longer and they do wait till it’s full before leaving. You are also quite a walking distance before getting to resort area. Great in cooler months but we unfortunately did it in June. I was a Atlantis resort guest on its own trip and despite what others may say, my BF and I had a lot of fun and would def return.

I hadn't even considered a water taxi. We will be there in November. Will the water Taxi drop us off at the Atlantis or once we dock we will still have to grab a cab or walk a long distance? Again we are just looking to go over to the casino but a nice water ride wouldn't be terrible unless its more trouble than its worth! Thanks for any input!!

It leaves off about a 15-20 min walk from where you can walk into hotel area with the shops then casino area. The lower level has a Starbucks where we got WiFi. On the walk, you’ll pass the marina area with very large boats and a hotel/timeshare area. You get tix to taxi after short walk from boat as you enter the usual touristy port. They should direct you to which taxi to proceed to. You can buy one way or round trip. The captain points out highlights along the way.

i agree! We thought it was a good idea to go back and waited forever. Then when we boarded we saw it was a little dingy, not what I expected a "ferry" to be. The passengers were actually discussing who gets saved first if we go down, LOL!

A few friends of ours told us the new (?) Baha Mar casino is phenomenal and we were interested in checking it out but it doesn’t look like there are any Port Adventures to it (except for one to golf there?) How safe/reliable/expensive is it to get transportation? Not even sure if that’s feasible for us since we’ll have a little one with us and no car seat. And just to note, we aren’t taking our little one on a gambling floor, just wanted to check out the casino ☺️

why bother with the trip over to Atlantis, you can just send the money to ME:teeth:. I promise to give you back pennies on the dollar for your winnings!! :smooth:

But Atlantis is a beautiful property. I have enjoyed the aquarium / Dig and the water park.

We went to the Baha Mar a couple of weeks ago on our Dream cruise and it was great. About 25 min drive from the port via taxi and it ran $25 each way. Beach, pools, hotel grounds and casino all top notch. There are a bunch of old air streams that have been converted to food trucks spread out on the edge of the beach.

We would definitely do this trip again.

Yes, super easy to do this. And easy to get a taxi back to the ship whenever you want to go. Taxi line outside of Atlantis.

Thanks so much! Sounds fun! My only thought is taking a taxi and having a little one that needs a car seat... Will have to look into options!
