We loved the cute Mickey waffles available at our breakfast at Tusker House one morning during our vacation. I really really loved that the waffle maker did 4 at a time, but not too big and they just seemed like a perfect fit for our family. Anyway, we looked at the World of Disney store in DTD and the CM's looked like I had two heads when I asked, and we didn't have time to check anywhere else (I wanted to check in the Disney kitchen-y store but wasn't able). Are these waffle makers available anywhere? I would LOVE to have one!!

HI, I asked the same thing while at Disney and was told by the CM's to look on Ebay as they no longer sell them. People thought I was nutty too when I asked. But what can I say? I LOVE all things Disney!

When we were at WOD in early December I overheard a CM telling someone they dont sell them anymore because they would break easily. Whip

I found mine on ebay, but just to warn you...they are not the thick style waffles from the parks. They are very thin, more of a formed pancake than a waffle. But my kids love them regardless!
Disney Store online had one earlier this season that did donald, goofy, mickey and one other, i think.
(i would link to it, but my laptop is painfully slow!)

Boo! I guess I'll keep looking (and try the Disney store online and ebay)... I loved the ones at the park BECAUSE they were nice big belgium waffles but not too big for a waffle. They were really the perfect size! I should have just tried taking one when they weren't being watched. ;) Totally kidding! :)

I found this, but it is from 2007. I don't know if the problem was fixed or not.

CPSC, Disney Announce Recall of Mickey's Waffle Irons
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Walt Disney Co., of Burbank, Calif., is voluntarily recalling more than 1,300 electric waffle irons. The waffle irons are improperly wired, presenting fire, shock and electrocution hazards to consumers.

Disney has received one report of a waffle iron catching on fire at the wall socket. No injuries or property damage was reported.

The waffle irons were manufactured by Vitantonio Products. The wiring was installed improperly during the manufacturing process. Vitantonio is a former licensee of Disney Consumer Products and is no longer in business. However, out of concern for consumer safety, Disney immediately agreed to conduct the recall itself and provide consumers with an incentive to return the waffle irons. Disney is offering consumers who participate in this recall a $70 gift voucher good for use in The Disney Catalog.

The waffle iron is chrome and black. It is made in a "clam-shell" design, and when the top lid is opened, a Mickey Mouse face is revealed on the cooking surfaces, which measure 7 inches in diameter. "Vitantonio Premier Mickey's Waffler The Walt Disney Co." is on a metallic label on the handle. Only waffle irons with three-prong plugs bearing model number 1950 and a serial number in one of the following ranges are being recalled: 17001000 to 17002661 or 46006022 to 46006524. The model and serial number are on a label affixed to the bottom of the waffle iron, along with "Vitantonio ... Made in U.S.A. ... UL 43G5 Listed".

Walt Disney World Resorts and specialty kitchen and department stores nationwide sold the waffle irons from October 1996 through January 1997 for about $60.

Consumers immediately should stop using the recalled waffle irons. Consumers should contact Disney at (800) 362-4695 anytime for instructions on returning the waffle iron to receive the $70 gift voucher.

Vitantonio made a number of other styles of Mickey waffle irons for Disney. None of these products are involved in this recall.

I asked the same thing at WOD when we were there a few weeks ago, and yeah, the lady looked at rather wierdly too.... so I want a Mickey wafflle maker - what of it!!!! HAHAHA Anyway, I'll be looking on ebay for one, as well as the Mickey toaster.... I need a new toaster, and one that does Mickeys on it would really impress my DDs!

My Mickey Waffle Maker that made the big belgian-type waffles of Mickey finally bit the dust. OK, so it was 14 years old and well loved. I thought of getting the cord redone (it was fraying) but couldn't find anyone who did that. And the one guy I did find said he'd try. Well, I couldn't take a 'try' and risk burning down my house and killing my family so we said Good-Bye to the Mickey Waffler.

Don't buy the 5-in-1 Disney waffle thing from the Disney Store. We got that thinking it would be a good replacement and it's not. The waffles are tiny two-bite things and get this, it's not non-stick. You have to use so much non-stick spray or you're waffles won't come out. Supposedly it makes brownies and cake and eggs too but not in my house.

I did end up getting the Cindy Waffle Maker and gave it to DD for her gift tonite. Love It! It is non-stick and makes a more substantial waffle. The top has the 'waffle' part and the bottom is the 'cindy coach' part.

I still want a Mickey one but even on eBay they are quite expensive. I remember that my original Mickey Waffler was $25 (I had the original box) and it was a wedding gift from our registry. To last so long is pretty amazing given how things are made these days. But I miss it.

As for the CMs at WDW stores, you're not alone. I got the 'you must a crazy person' look when I asked. I finally got a manager that said their policy is they don't sell any kitchen items with a cord.

That's not the same one. I was able to buy a Mickey Waffle iron as late as 2005-2006 at DTD. Then my ex-wife "re-gifted" it to someone before I even got a chance to take it out of the box.

I bought my mickey waffle maker on Amazon about 2 years ago. It's made by Villaware. It is the big mickey waffle maker. They also make a 4 mini waffle one too. The waffles are about 1 1/2 inch thick-not as thick as the ones at Disney World, but still great. We used it this morning for Christmas breakfast. :santa:

It really stinks that they don't just sell the same ones they use... obviously those ones work fine (and for a lot of use!), and it would make such a fun breakfast. :)

That's the one 1 have too...so far so good...about 2 years and counting. Of course we use it only about a dozen times a year.
