But, alas, by the time I did more cyphering,
we determined that being on the East coast
has absolutely zero benefit to getting to London.
We'd have to fly from there, back west to Toronto
and then East to London.
It was no cheaper than to fly from Winnipeg.

Well, why don't we do that?
Because by the time we figured this out,
the seat sale was already gone.
A flight to London was now
four times more expensive.

Okay. Forget it.


But then another seat sale came up.
For southern destinations.

So Ruby and I are heading down
to Vegas for a quick little getaway
in December.
And the nice thing is, they're direct,
non-stop flights.

BOOO VEGAS YAAAY LONDON.

poured my 'wine'

(And I've said this before,
but for those who may have missed it,
I do not wish for poker chips
from stores that I haven't been to.
I like to point to my small,
yet ever growing collection
and say "I've been to all of those!"
So if you were thinking of sending
me one from where you live...
Thank you very much for the thought,
but just tell me that you have a store
near you... and maybe I'll show up
in person to collect! )

Also LOVE your stories about the diving. That was one of my favourite parts of your previous report too. Although I'm in this report, so it's not my favourite thing about this one

The first place I tried, was due to
@TheLittleKatie 's advice.
I made a bee-line for Hawaii
and tried the Kalua Pork Slider
(with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney
and Spicy Mayonnaise.)

It may not look like much,
indeed, it may not even look good.
But trust me... this thing was soooo good.

I very nonchalantly said.

I said it nonchalantly,
but on the inside I was:

Katie looked perplexed for a second,
and then recognized me
and without a second's thought
we both reached over and hugged.
It was so good to see her!
Katie introduced me to Jamie
and we just started chatting
like long lost friends.
I don't know about her,
but as far as I was concerned,
it was wonderful meeting them.

"Hi Katie." HAAA this was the best, I was BLINDSIDED All of a sudden you're right in my face, treating it like the most casual encounter in the world I would expect nothing less from my first time meeting pkondz

After I got my food,
I grabbed a table and was prepared
to share, but Katie is obviously
a good judge of character
and I didn't see them again that night.

That's weird because we just grabbed a table right by the China stand too! But I guess we just weren't in each other's line of sight at least we were meeting again sooooon!

Remember how I kept the Harley Davidson
poker chip so it wouldn't get lost?

Well, that backfired spectacularly!

At that point, I didn't know if
I was going to have time to make a
return visit to the Harley store to replace it,
or if it would have to wait for another visit.

Poop.

Who knew that there would be
a surprise twist to that?

But I will say, that I was quite
surprised by it.
Pleasantly so.
I had absolutely zero expectations going in.
And I found myself enjoying it quite a bit.

where I first learned of the Harambe market.
I knew I had to try it,
so I headed over that way.

I ordered the beef and pork sausage
(Fried in Curried Corn Batter
served with Green Papaya Slaw
and Black-eyed Pea Salad)

I have tried the sausage and thought it was pretty good, but the beef gyro flatbread is better in my opinion

I left the room and took one step...

And.... I'm sweating already!

Omg it was such a hot and sweaty day. I'd done Keys to the Kingdom in the morning and there was no way I could come straight to meet you! I was a MESS!

I asked our waitress if we could grab another table

And was told they couldn't.
That there were other people waiting.

Harley Davidson poker chip!

She didn't even know this
(and she still doesn't... miss her)
but she had just saved me
from going home without one

"It's pink." She said. "So whenever

I was very touched by her thoughtfulness.

Okay... I know there are language differences
between North American and British, but....

You know.
Apartment = Flat
Trunk = Boot
Truck = Lorry

But I don't claim to know 'em all.

Like.
Pacifier = Dummy
Checkers = Draughts
or even
Zucchini = Courgette

So while I had no idea what "pulley"
meant, I wasn't totally surprised
to hear a word I didn't recognize.

I thought. "Perhaps she's already
eaten so much on the dining plan
that she's feeling full and needs
a pulley to lift herself into bed."


She noticed my blank look
and whispered to Lu.

"What?" I said.
"Oh." She replied. "Just asking Lu
if they use that term."

"We do." Lu continued.
"I'm surprised you don't."

"What does it mean?" I asked.
"It means." Katie replied.
"That I'm not feeling well..."


okay.... OH!!


"You're feeling poorly!" I exclaimed.
"Yes." She replied, looking puzzled.
"Don't you say that?"

"Well." I said. "We might say
'I'm not feeling well' but we could say
'I'm feeling poorly'."

They just cut out the middle man,
so to speak, and cut to the chase.

We all strained to hear...
