So

I have my Vegas trip planned out. Now to book it.

For 10 days, stay in the Luxor and direct flights from the UK will set me back £520. Special deal.

I can afford that on my credit card. Or, if I wait for pay day, in 9 days, my main account, based on salary. I'd prefer to wait and not go on credit, but if I wait until next month, I may lose the deal.

What should I do?

I do the same, book on the credit card to get the points, extra travel insurance, then just transfer the money from the vacation fund an pay off the credit card.

That is an insanely good deal. I don't think I could do much better than that for just the airfare! Go for it!:)

Well that does it. I left it too long and now they want £700. I feel gutted. On the other hand, I can get a free room upgrade to a King Superior... Still... :(

Sorry you missed out on the great deal. Now you know what to do next time.

Have to strike while the iron is hot and sorry you missed out.

My last trip I was at Luxor, it was ok, but just a wee bit to far up the strip bt your still going to love it, when you going ? Im probably headed out in Nov

I may bump into you there then, I'm going 16th - 26th. It's quite a long stay, but I'm travelling from the UK so I need to justify the air fare!

The Mandalay Bay complex is considered the south end of the strip, and the Luxor is right next to it. And the monos on that side of the street are non existent between the Excalibur and the Park MGM and between the Bellagio and the Mirage. The monorail on the other side of the street is continuous from the mgm to the sls, but runs behind the casinos there. And it isn't free. So it can take quite some time to get to center strip from there. The Luxor is one of the better of the cheaper hotels there though.

Change of details, I'm there 12th - 22nd now. Why? Well, when you diddle the dates around, the fees can fall. As in £700 down to £615 with a room upgrade! Would love to meet up now, the chance to clink drinks with a DIS legend is a must!
