I guess two officers were called in, and one happened to understand American Sign Language to help her obtain a Real ID compliant California ID. She also didn't have enough to cover it ( should be $30 for a non-DL ID) and apparently he pulled out his debit card (they don't take credit cards at their offices yet) to pay for it and gave her the money back.
