CP for 2, food for 4

Hi. We are considering doing a ressie for the candlelight processional for four people to dine, but only two would want to go to the CP. Is it possible to somehow make that work?

You really only have 2 options in this,
Number one is to buy 2 CP tickets and then reserve a table for 2 and hope to get the same times. This poses a couple problems. First, you run the risk of not getting times close together as some restaurants are more popular and have less time choices. Second, you might not be able to sit together as it's two separate parties of 2. They might sit you together, this this is at the digression of the CM.
Number 2 is to just buy the 4 CP tickets. Yes, you will be paying more, but you'll all be sitting together.
What you could also do is sprinkle some pixie dust yourself and give your 2 extra CP tickets to a couple waiting in the standby line! It might make their vacation!

I agree with above. You can make a reservation for 2 for the CP dining package and then make a separate ADR for 2 at the same restaurant for the same time or as close together as you can get. Then all 4 of you need to arrive at the restaurant at the same time, 10-15 minutes before the earlier reservation time, and check in with the CM in person, not via MDE. Tell the CM you'd like to be seated as close together as possible. Hopefully they'll be able to put you together, but there are no guarantees.
