CRAZY DIS ASIANS! A Sept 2018 TR...COMPLETED 6/1 The last day!!

So the event start time back in Sept 2018 was pretty much like EMH hours. So for the first hour, the lines are not going to be as short as you think they are, just because they still have to weed out the regular crowds. So now, VIPassholder events start an HOUR after park closing. You can still get on rides in between the park closing and the official event start time (we did so in Feb) - so it's like extending it an extra hour, is all. But the crowds by the end of the night are very very low!
I didn't even pay attention to that's how they are set up now, like the MK one in 10 DAYS NOW?!?!?!? That's nice that they changed it. I see lots of late nights on this trip!

I wouldn't have the patience to do the onigiri all the time lol. Your Stitch's are so cute!

Stitch is so cute! But I really want to know: did you eat him?

No we did not. He was stored in the room fridge and after a while we jut didn't want to eat him. Also because my hands had been all over him at that points, so I wasn' too keen on it, LOL.

FEA is so much fun! Lucky that you had a short wait. Ugh for all the extra walking afterwards. :(

I do like FEA. I don't know if I'd waste my Tier 1 FP on it but maybe I would do once in a while.

I love the Stitch that you made! That looks like the kind of thing I would go into with super high confidence before it slowly turned into a blob of blue mush. I just do not have the patience lol

Thanks! I was just lucky he didn't come out look like...a blue blob. It was fun though.

That really stinks about your knee, I'm sorry it was giving you so much trouble!

Ugh it sucked, but you jut suck it up and deal at Disney!

Well, I can say that I have learned something new today. I honestly did not know this was a thing. It looks like fun! I don't know if I would have the talent to do it, but I would certainly try and not just eat it like some!

It's a pretty new and interesting offering. I highly recommend trying something you won't normally do, just because it's different.

I like that pretzel prop too. I never noticed it in Germany, but my family had some shots with it in MK at the purple wall. It was back in August on Photopass day. I think at the time I thought it was a special prop for that day.

I haven't seen it again but I don't notice these things as much as my sister!

How nice of him. I don't think there is any place in the world where a server would take such care and attention to anyone.
I have always wanted to try Yachtsman but unfortunately I have three non-steak eaters in my family, so it would probably be wasted. I suppose they have chicken on the menu, but it just seems like a waste to not get steak.

It was a very lovely dinner and I've always had a good meal there. My sister is not a steak person and she's been to Yachtsman and ordered the seafood dish and has always enjoyed it!

Love the Stitches! I think yours was the best (but if Chubby Hubby or Su-Queen ask me next month, I won't play favorites)! (And yes, I'm sticking with Chubby Hubby... got to get myself in the habit!)

Haha you will be Steve's favorite person. But thanks! I am pretty proud of my Stitch, he turned out better than I expected.

You succeeded. :)

Thanks!

Lot of work and... eaten in an instant!

PRetty much!

That would never happen to me!
(Disregard that last chapter of my TR)

OK gonna catch up now!

Um....
Be careful saying that to a Canadian.
La Vie en Rose is a lingerie store similar to Victoria's Secret.

Hahaha ok. But are you still gonna have one at Epcot?

Huh. Never heard of these, but since they probably don't have them in many restaurants, that makes sense.

They are found more in take out places that sell prepared sushi and stuff like that.

Very nice! You did a great job! I liked yours better than the others in your party!

Thanks!! :)

That is also my favorite dessert of the Food & Wine Festival!

So yummy!

I think we had David as our server on our trip to Yachtsman last month. I can't be sure, but I think so.

Oh cool! I've had a few DISboard friends say that too!

That sounds like a great event! I wish they had one when we were there, did you have to register like the DVC Membership Magic?

Yes you do have to register. For what it's worth it's not a must-do, it's just like EMH but maybe a tad less crowded. The moonlight magic events seem so much better with the rare characters and free food!

Interesting that it looked like an apple!

That's what drew me to it!

Ugh, I know how slowly I walk when I don't feel good. It would have taken us forever.

Yeah I was not happy about it at all but there was nothing I could that at that point!

Dang! I want one, but we weren't even there that year. I hope they do it this year! I'll make it a point to go in 4 times. We did get some passholder glasses on a previous year.

Ooh the glasses sound nice! It's definitely more useful for me at least!

Stitch is so cute! But I really want to know: did you eat him?

Thanks! No we did not end up eating our stitches. They ended up in the room fridge and by the next day the rice was all hard and not really worth eating.

FEA is so much fun! Lucky that you had a short wait. Ugh for all the extra walking afterwards. :(

I was happy to ride FEA! And the knee issues suck! I hope my knee holds up in the next few weeks!

I love the Stitch that you made! That looks like the kind of thing I would go into with super high confidence before it slowly turned into a blob of blue mush. I just do not have the patience lol

LOL you may be surprised at yourself! Some people have a knack for this, but you are right, you definitely need patience!

That really stinks about your knee, I'm sorry it was giving you so much trouble!

Thanks, it sucked but there was nothing I could do!

I LOVE your ears! Where did you get them? They are absolutely adorable:goodvibes

Thank you! I got them from https://alohaearsdesign.com/
They are interchangeable so I only have to bring one band and different ears and bows. A game-changer for sure!

Sorry to hear about your knee issues, that seems like a pain to have to deal with!

Yes, it quite literally is the biggest pain ever!! :(

The VIP event at EPCOT looked fun! The short waits for rides and characters must have been so nice!

It was great as it got later in the evening and the lines got really short!

I always enjoy your trip reports!!

Thank you so much!

Definitely can't trust that Mom! Watch out for that one

I'll have to pay close attention to that "mom" in two weeks! :)

I didn't even pay attention to that's how they are set up now, like the MK one in 10 DAYS NOW?!?!?!? That's nice that they changed it. I see lots of late nights on this trip!

YES! CAn't believe it's so close now. I'm so unprepared for this trip, meanwhile we'v been planning it for like 9 months. It's like our baby, LOL.

I wouldn't have the patience to do the onigiri all the time lol. Your Stitch's are so cute!

Thanks! It was fun to do but I definitely do not have this sort of patience in real life!

I know I’m late, but I’m here. Does it count that I followed your trip on IG? I’m sorry about your knee, definitely not something you want when there’s so much walking to do. That Stitch is too cute! You did a really amazing job, it looks professional. I can’t wait to read about the rest.

Maybe I shouldn't let them back in until they memorized the schedule.

Had to quote this, because it was my favorite line so far. I think I will use this with my family going forward. I don’t care if they’re kids, they have to learn at some point :rotfl:.

On a serious note, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. I offer my very late condolences.

Just a little PSA that in ONE WEEK I will be here:

OK well technically it is 8 days since the first day of our trip we will be in Universal. But I am so excited as it is the start of the most amazing EPIC 2 week trip with a couple of DISBoard girlfriends (ok, like 30 of us!). Check our our PTR for more Epic trip goodies! Plus we have some amazing surprises in store that I can't wait to share in my TR. If any of you are traveling there at that time, please let me know!

Day 7: The Faces of Pain and Denial

After our long night in which I walked on my already pained knee I decided to spend the morning sleeping in and resting. We were supposed to be in AK that morning but I skipped our first two FP+ for the Safari and Adventurer's Outpost and would only make it to Flight of Passage. My sister and Steve went ahead because CS would not miss a chance for some character pics and Steve went to ride the safari and then EE single rider.

I don't have any of Steve's EE pictures, I guess I never downloaded them (and I'm too lazy to go back for them, don't worry he won't know.)

I met up with them a little later but I had my own little mission. After icing my knee, I hopped on a bus to AK and went straight to...Satuli Canteen!

Oh but I did stop for a few photopass pics along the way, just because I was so slow and kept stopping to rest anyways.

This is me giving my best I'm not in pain look!

I decided to go to Satuli to grab a kids portion of my favorite quick service meal, the chicken bowl! It was the perfect late breakfast for me.

It was great and hit the spot.

Now it was time for Flight of Passage! I met up with CS and Steve in Satuli and we walked over together. Well, I waddled and dragged on through the queue.

That was my 3 minutes of celebrity that day, LOL. But it was so sweet, its nice to meet other Disboarders and Instagrammers in person!

Before hopping on a bus to AKL - Kidani Village! Our lunch at Sanaa awaits!

Yes I do realize that I just had a meal but that was at least a hour ago, and it was kid-sized.

We sat in the lobby of Kidani and I bought an ace bandage for my knee and iced it. It definitely seemed to help.

When we were leaving Sanaa I spotted this turtle and posted this pic to my instagram asking people who was slower today, me or the turtle?

At lunch I ordered some wine because that was the only thing that would cure me of of grumpy face!

It was hard to pick a favorite, they were all so flavorful. Steve liked the spiciest ones, I liked them all and would mix sauces, and guess which one CS liked? Yes the one that tasted like JAM. The sweetest sauces like the mango chutney were her favorites!

As an entree all of us got the Potjie inspired!

In between all of us we have Shrimp Durban, Butter Chicken, Lentils, Chickpeas, and Cheese. Yum!! So much flavor!

We were really stuffed by the end of the meal! We could not eat dessert but we were full of carbs from the bread service anyways!

Steve and I were headed back to Epcot for our final Food & Wine seminar of the trip...a sake tutorial and tasting! Since my sister doesn't drink alcohol she decided to do what she does best...yes take pictures!

Here's my "in pain but in denial" face:

We did learn a lot about sake. We didn't know that much about it before. The quality of the sake depends on how much the grains of rice are polished. The higher the percentage, the better quality the sake.

It was a great and informative class, and Steve and I really enjoyed it.

After our class, I decided that I was ok to go to Disney Springs for the night.
I know, right? Bad idea. But better idea is to have Steve wheel me on a wheelchair to the bus to Disney Springs!!
We borrowed the wheelchair from the front of the park and Steve wheeled me over to the Disney Springs bus, which in all fairness was quite far away.

It was just my sister and I at the springs. We bought gifts for our family and I got an Earl of Sandwich and oogled at the pretty dresses at the Dress Shoppe.

I took my sandwich back to the room and ate it. It was amazing. I got the holiday turkey.

I thought I wouldn't be hungry again after our filling lunch but you guys really underestimate my talents.
Although I don't really have the stomach that I used to have. I am really trying to cut back, I really am. Unless at Disney then no holds barred.

My sister decided to stick around Disney Springs and have some solo time by herself. She at at WPE since that is her favorite quick service!

So aside from the sucky knee pain that day I did get to eat and drink to my hearts desire,
which was probably the only thing that I looked forward to from that point on. I did ice my knee whenever we were stationary and that helped a lot.

Coming up...our next to last day!

This update really made my mouth water. Sake (Never had it but I want to... badly). Sanaa. HOLIDAY TURKEY AT EARL OF SANDWICH. I'm gonna need a midnight second dinner now lol

Also, what a trouper you were again with your knee. I hurt my knee really bad at Universal about 4 years back and still had a half day after at Magic Kingdom with breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I don't know how I did it I was in so much pain. I literally walked around my house on crutches for the few days I had before having to go to work when I got home. In short, the things we do to keep going with Disney.

Lingerie?
Sure.

Excellent, looking forward to all your photopass pictures.

Your Stitch turned out so cute! I think I would have been one of the people who gave up and had myself a lil snack!!

Thank you!!
Haha, oh we definitely ate a bit as we crafted! We couldn't help it! Our hands were covered with food.

Had to quote this, because it was my favorite line so far. I think I will use this with my family going forward. I don’t care if they’re kids, they have to learn at some point :rotfl:.

I know!! As Disney planners, no one appreciates all the work we do sometimes!! And it's a lot of work! :rotfl:

On a serious note, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. I offer my very late condolences.

Thank you so much.

LOL, Sake can be pretty potent! But it is good.
I had a pretty crazy eating day. I guess I ate my feelings :laughing::laughing:

Yes, that is exactly it!! Being at Disney makes you just keep going because you want to, against all better judgement.

I feel your pain, it reminds me of my January trip with my sore knee and really sore back, ugh!!

You still managed a fun day and the Sana’a bread service puts us all in a good mood!

So excited to meet you in just under 2 weeks now!!

I got them from https://alohaearsdesign.com/
They are interchangeable so I only have to bring one band and different ears and bows. A game-changer for sure!
Thank you for giving me the link - I will make sure to check it out!

Just a little PSA that in ONE WEEK I will be here:

YAY! I can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Your Sanna lunch looked very yummy, something I definitely want to try one of these days

I took my sandwich back to the room and ate it. It was amazing. I got the holiday turkey.

You are making my mouth water, this is my favorite sandwich from EOS!

Sorry to hear your knew was giving you so much trouble, but if there is anything that can cure it its gotta be wine and bread service. :P

Just a little PSA that in ONE WEEK I will be here:

I'm in single digits too!

Plus we have some amazing surprises in store that I can't wait to share in my TR.

Can't wait!

would only make it to Flight of Passage.

One does not throw away a FoP FP.

 Like their costumes.

I don't have any of Steve's EE pictures, I guess I never downloaded them (and I'm too lazy to go back for them, don't worry he won't know.)

Will he be there on the 3rd when we meet?
I am so telling him.

This is me giving my best I'm not in pain look!

"I'm smiling on the outside, but screaming on the inside."

Looks good!

I can't stop... staring... You ate it with a spoon!

On the way we ran into this lovely glam girl who stopped me and said she read my trip reports!!!

:goodvibes That's so cool! A fan!

its nice to meet other Disboarders and Instagrammers in person!

::yes::

"The sun shone bright and harsh that day..."

Yes I do realize that I just had a meal but that was at least a hour ago, and it was kid-sized.

Legit excuse.

Soon we were called for our table at Sanaa. We managed to get a view of the Savannah!

Niiiice.
Just read another TR where this happened. If I ever get there, I'll be sure to ask for a table with a view. I'll wait, thanks.

I spotted this turtle and posted this pic to my instagram asking people who was slower today, me or the turtle?

Awww... poor Su-Lynn.

At lunch I ordered some wine because that was the only thing that would cure me of of grumpy face!

Whoa! Thought you were kidding. Drink wine! Quick!

We got the bread service to start, and this definitely put me in a good mood. Look at this glorious offering!

looks amazing. I've heard a lot about the bread service there.

As an entree all of us got the Potjie inspired!

No idea what that means... but it looks good.

Here's my "in pain but in denial" face:

Still pretty, though.

And here was the sake we tasted:

That must've helped with the pain?

The quality of the sake depends on how much the grains of rice are polished. The higher the percentage, the better quality the sake.

Huh! Had no idea.

After our class, I decided that I was ok to go to Disney Springs for the night.

:sad2: You crazy, girl.

But better idea is to have Steve wheel me on a wheelchair to the bus to Disney Springs!!

Good! And yes... good idea.

I took my sandwich back to the room and ate it. It was amazing. I got the holiday turkey.

Yum! Might be my choice. I haven't eaten there though.

I thought I wouldn't be hungry again after our filling lunch but you guys really underestimate my talents.

:worship:

Excellent, looking forward to all your photopass pictures.

"Those aren't Mickey Ears on your head."

On the way we ran into this lovely glam girl who stopped me and said she read my trip reports!!!
Yay! How fun :thumbsup2

Yes I do realize that I just had a meal but that was at least a hour ago, and it was kid-sized.
Oh I just considered that a small appetizer, don't worry!

I thought I wouldn't be hungry again after our filling lunch but you guys really underestimate my talents.
 This is so me at Disney! We're obligated to pack in as much Disney food glory as possible... it's only right!

Unless at Disney then no holds barred.
See above comment... I wholeheartedly agree. I remember a few years back I arrived around 4pm to Epcot on the last day of F&G. I seriously ate like 8-10 different things throughout the course of the evening... I mean, what choice did I have, right?! :confused3

So sorry about your knee! :sad2:

I'm way behind on so many trip reports so I'm kind of starting at the end and reading backwards

I'm sorry about your knee but you accomplished a lot even with a bum knee!

I never made it Saana…Mike and I had every intention of going last October and just never made it. He and I have a trip planned for next March so it'll have to go back on the list for then.

See you real soon!!
