Dealing with after Disney depression

On Dec 27th, my wife and I flew home from a 12 day WDW visit. It has become an annual event. We don't give each other gifts during the year-- our annual pilgrimage to WDW is our gift to each other!
When we got home this trip, we were both down in the dumps more than we have ever been before. So, after a few weeks of that, we booked our 2018 Holiday trip already. Going from December 15 to the 28th--only 339 days away! We also decided we were flying only first class to/from Orlando. That makes the trip more expensive, but adds an element that means we don't have to worry about checked baggage weight limits and are allowed 2 bags at no additional cost. Not to mention the amenities on board the plane!
Flight of Passage has become our number one to do at AK. We both loved it but not enough to wait 2-4 hours. Thank goodness for FP+. Looking forward to Toy Story Land that will (should) be open by the time we are there. Having a booked trip has helped us get over our Disney depression and gives us plenty of time to plan our trip.

We used to do the same thing, book our next trip right away. A couple of years we took advantage of bounce back offers while on site. It was fun to be able to say "we'll see you next year" as we left. We spent many early Decembers at WDW. What better holiday gift is there?

But be forewarned. This can lead to a deepening obsession. One trip a year, two trips a year, owning a vacation home, longer trips, finally becoming Disney snowbirds.

Have fun planning your next visit!

Since the kids are all grown, we use quick trips more now just to get there more often. Usually that means only about 6-7 months between that post trip depression.
