Did I Make The Right Choice? Taking Dd 16 To Vegas

DD just turned 16 and as a little treat I decided to take her to the states to do some shopping. When looking around at different locations/packages I was able to get an awesome deal through West Jet Vacations to Vegas. I almost felt like they were paying me to travel there.:lmao: I haven't been there since I turned 21 (and we won't mention how long ago that was).

We're strictly going to shop, walk around, maybe sit by the pool and go to some shows and have some warm weather with no snow.

Now I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I know she probably sees worse on tv but I hope it's appropriate to have a 16 year old there.

What's the shopping like right now? Any good deals? We're not seeing the effects of the recession here in Northern Alberta yet but I'm sure it's coming.

I'm sure it will all be good. There's so much to do there and so much to see that I'm sure you'll have no problems. We were there in September and I can't wait to go back and take my daughter and son there. You'll be able to enjoy the shows, a lot of great shopping, and the hotel and pool area. That's sounds like a pretty great vacation to me.:cutie:

For shopping, walking around, sitting by the pool,
going to some shows and having some warm weather
Las Vegas is an excellent destination. Even for a 16
year old with a parent.

I'm not sure what you think she'll see that's inappropriate,
but the worst of it are the people handing out business
cards for escorts - pictures of women in bikini's.

Don't take the cards.

The outlet centers have great deals and even the shops
in the big resorts are offering some deals. And the
shows are fun!

I'm taking my then 9 and 6 year olds in May.

We are SOOOO looking forward to it.

When I was there in October I didn't see anything inappropriate. I mean you do see those vans going by with the hookers pictures and numbers, but that's about as bad as I saw. :rotfl:

Yeah, she probably sees worse on tv. If I know her we'll probably be in the malls all day anyway.

:lmao: So true! I did see some really fab shopping when I was there in Oct. The shops in the Venetian were really cool and it really felt like you were outside IMO.

Have a really great time!! I'm told not to miss the Freemont Street experience (spelling?) - we'll try to get to that this time too.

There are deals everywhere. If you stay on the strip, be sure to go to the Fashion Show Mall. There are always deals at Dillard's and Macy's; do they have those in Alberta? There is also Nordstrom, Saks and Neiman's at this mall; and a Bloomingdale's home store. There are two outlet malls; great shopping at The Forum Shops at Caesars and the Grand Canal Shops at Venetian. Plus most properties have decent shopping. There is a store called Marshall Rousso with locations in many casinos; and Bellagio has really upscale shops including Tiffany plus their own retail shops. Your daughter might enjoy a night of fine dining or going to a show. Have fun planning your trip!

Don't miss the new Town Square shopping center. It's near the outlet mall in the south east so you could do them both in one day. Hve fun and thanks for comming we need as many vivitors as we can get right now.:thumbsup2

Dillards at The Boulevard Mall shut down, not at Fashion Show. I was just at The Boulevard today; that end of the mall is a ghost town.

Thanks for letting me know that. One of my co-workers had suggested we go to that Mall. I want to make sure we go to Ross and Macy's as we have neither of those in Canada.

Thanks for the shopping tips. We don't have Macy's in Alberta but I love it when we are in the States. I don't think I've ever been to a Dillard's.

We are getting tickets with our vacation package to Legends and a comedian so that should be fun.
