Anytime I make a purchase with my Target red Debit Card, the discounted price shows up on the pay pad (I have no idea what those things are called) after I insert the red Card, and before I enter my pin, so you can actually see the discounted price before you pay.

ETA: I'm thinking now it's because I have a chip card and not sure if a swipe card gives you the same information....

Admittedly it has been awhile since my last Target purchase!

I noticed a Kroger digital coupon this morning for 4x fuel points on gift cards till 9/30. AND there is a separate coupon for 4x on MasterCard and Visa fixed value cards. Odd that there are two coupons since the general 4x coupon always works on the Visa/Mastercard fixed value cards. I wonder if purchasing a Visa gift card will trigger both coupons for 8x???

I don't know if this has been asked, but can I buy a Visa gift card at the store and then turn around and use it to buy groceries and a Disney gift card?

Generally yes. I have one Kroger where I only do it at self checkout because a manager told me it was against store policy when a cashier asked him.

hey y'all, just left sam's club. the $500 GC prompts for manager approval when paying with GCs. had the cashier cancel the transaction and rang up (6) $150 Gcs and didn't need manager approval. paid with GCs earned through swagbucks.

I'll be using my SBs Walmart GCs over the next week or so at Sam's to get Disney GCs. Did you have any trouble with the printed out SBs cards? Just wondering if I should expect issues. I'll have several $25 SBs cards printed out. If there's a better way, I'm all ears....LOL.

I'll be using my SBs Walmart GCs over the next week or so at Sam's to get Disney GCs. Did you have any trouble with the printed out SBs cards? Just wondering if I should expect issues. I'll have several $25 SBs cards printed out. If there's a better way, I'm all ears....LOL.

I never print my GCs, i just take screen shots.
I go to customer service first and combine all of them onto a hard GC. then i go to self checkout and purchase. Good luck!

Be careful with eGift cards you get from MyPoints. Two days ago I redeemed points for one $100 Target ecard and one $50 Target ecard. I entered them in my Target account and the $100 card had $0 on it! I called Target and it was redeemed the day before. So I was finally able to get through to MyPoints because it's all by email contact, and they credited the points back to me. I redeemed them again and the balance of $100 was there. So this was on Sept 16th.

I went in my Target account today and it was zero balance again!!! Someone purchased something IN the Target store in Colorado (I live NOWHERE near there) yesterday! I called Target since the $100 is in my account and I knew they would see the history. She said it's an issue with MyPoints. However, she did say she will have a specialist look into it, since I said they allowed someone to purchase something on an ecard that was linked to MY account.

I am waiting for MyPoints to get back to me again also. Ugh. It seems to me someone on their end is accessing the gift card numbers and access codes and watching and waiting for funds to be added. Or someone is hacking something. But it was only the $100 one, not the $50.

This is ridiculous. I'm so annoyed, and have to wait for both of them to get back to me.

That's really scary! I always figured the cards we got from rewards programs were safe because they were "new" cards. I guess we'll even have to be super careful of them as well!

Update:

The MyPoints compliance team is looking into it. They think it might be an issue on the code provider's end.

So you combine the WM GCs at customer service at Sam's or WM? I wasn't aware you could do that.

Sorry for so many questions. I was so used to the good old days with Target > Ebay and repeat that I'm still trying to figure out other stores. Only time I've used Sam's was using my Discover card when I was able to get 5% back.

Walgreens is a YMMV sort of place. My stores have been great about it the times I've done it. However, not everyone has had as good of experiences.

When I buy gift cards with Walgreens cards, I also buy merchandise along with it and just swipe the gift card without asking. I've never had a problem at my local stores.

I don't generally go to Target for gift cards unless I'm there for other things, but at least once it was just a gallon of milk along with the $100 GC. Most times the GC outweighs the merchandise by a lot and no problems.

As for the refund to GC if you use a gift card, the customer service can override if it makes sense. So far the only times I've had to return something on the receipt when I've paid with gift cards, the balance charged to my RedCard exceeded both the amount of giftcards used and the cost of the item being returned. When that's been pointed out (or they notice themselves) they've been able to override the computer and put the refund back to my card. Now if you're returning a $10 item and you paid with $100 in GC might not work but can't hurt to ask
