That's great news! We check in on Feb 23rd. I had thought the pool would be closed for the entire month.

Housekeeping would be on the floor pretty early (maybe like 8ish?). We have young children so sleeping in isn’t something we can do but I did see them knock on someone’s door yesterday morning when we were leaving to go to get the ME. That was probably about 8:45. I will say that room they knocked on didn’t have the room occupied sign on but I could tell they were sleeping bc I heard them say something from in the room and then the housekeeper closed the door right away.
There was one day when we went back to the room in the afternoon so my one year old could take a nap, and at about 2pm housekeeping knocked. I asked them if I could just have towels. The man gave me towels and I asked him if he needed to see the room, I could tell he felt bad but he peeked in quickly and said thank you. I was in the room alone with DS; DH and DD were at the pool. I didn’t feel uncomfortable or worried at all. It was the same person I had seen with the housekeeping crew all week. He was dressed in the Poly housekeeping uniform.

Today is the first day it is closed. The sign didn’t say when it would reopen.

How do I use TP to make a room request? I do have a subscription.

Go to your dashboard on touringplans.com, and after you enter the details of your trip, click on Request Room. Then look at the building maps and photos until you see a view you like, and that's the one!

We are checking in that day too. I emailed Disney about a month ago regarding this and they said there was nothing about it being closed that week... I may call today. I haven't received an email or anything saying it would be closed so fingers crossed, especially because it looks like it's going to be pretty warm.

Exactly what tnolan said. The 'request room' button is on your dashboard, just under your trip details, between the 'delete' and 'dining' buttons.

Does being a member of TP give you an advantage when requesting a certain room? Also, since I’ve never seen this site before, do you recommend buying tickets off this website at a discount vs Disney.com? Thanks.

They actually fax the resorts for you so you can call and have it noted to your ressie but TP will also fax the resorts..
I bought tickets off the touring plans link to the official ticket center I ended up saving $60. Prices just went up Im so glad I bought mine late last month bc I saved another $60 doing that!
Now if your not staying DVC and want the DDP you have to buy tickets through disney

As far as tickets go, I'm not much help. We always purchase military tickets, so I don't have experience comparing prices elsewhere.

For requesting a room, I think it's definitely an advantage. This is our first year using TP to request a room, although I've been a member for a few years now. I think it's the most direct way to request what you want, although it's not a guarantee.

Thank you! I just tried doing it for my date but it said nothing available. I’ve already booked the room. Hmm. I’ll keep playing with it.

Quick question! How long does it take to walk from the bungalows to Capt. Cook’s?
