Anyone interested in some chips and drinks?. Im in 5221. Leaving soon. Will drop it off at the ice machine when I leave or be quick and knock our room :)

Few questions i hope someone can answer quickly. Are there any charges for leaving the room too dirty or messy at check out? (We have a lot of trash left). Also, is it ok to take the room occupied sign?
The trash is probably fine as long as your room isn’t completely torn apart. Why would you want to take the room occupied sign? That would mean the next guest wouldn’t have one then.

I cannot stop thinking about this post. What happened to make your room trashed? What do you mean by trashed? Just garbage everywhere? Was it just you or did you have kids in The room?

Why do you have a lot of trash in your room?
Did housekeeping not take your trash each day?
Did you turn down housekeeping but did not take your trash to the trash bins each day or call for pickup?

To answer: No I don't think you will be charged extra
but it certainly would be appropriate to leave an apology gratuity for the housekeeper.

I think it depends on your definition of lots of trash too. Even with housekeeping daily, I usually have an extra bag or two in addition to what fits in the can the last day, as I get rid of things that are almost empty or I don’t want to take home. To me, that is a lot of trash. To someone else, it may not be. I agree with the extra tip if you have more trash than they can carry out in a trip or two.

Agree with leaving more in gratuity than your ordinarily would for housekeeping when you have more than just a small bag or two of trash. I always bring small trash bags on our trips because I find the room trash bins rather small. Our room is usually fairly tidy when we check out, but if we have what I’d consider excess trash (boxes from toys we’ve opened or empty containers we don’t want to bring home), I leave a larger tip. I also left a larger tip (and stripped the bed) when my DD got sick the day we were checking out.

Just FYI for those doing a room only stays before starting a stay with the dining package. We were able to move our 1 night All star sports to pop today. Our package at Pop starts tomorrow. The front desk told us we must come by in the morning and check out of our room and then they will start our package for the 2nd part of our stay. Otherwise we won’t have tickets and dining tomorrow until we do. The lady in the food court told me the same thing when I told her our dining package doesn’t start until tomorrow. She said if we don’t check in with the front desk first thing our tickets and dining won’t work. She said they are really having problems with split stays with people being upset about it not being available until check in.

Hope that makes sense for everyone and helps clear up any confusion.

Hmmm. I wonder if this is new. We had no problem using our dining credits for our Pop stay first thing in the morning before we checked out of the Poly and into Pop.

I wanted to add my experience as well. we had a room only reservation for Thursday evening and then our free dining package started on Friday. We checked in Thursday night and were told that we got to stay in the same room. So we never thought about needing to officially check in with the front next the next morning. So, that Friday morning we went to grab our refillable mugs, but the CM couldn’t activate them because she said our “dining package wasn’t showing up on the reservation”. She made a quick call, verified everything and then activated our mugs. She was very nice. She said that the dining plans used to be automatically activated after midnight of check in day, but now the plans are not activated until you actually check in. I would assume if you did on line check in and you received a room ready text or email, then your plan should be activated. Otherwise, I would advise stopping at the front desk as soon as you arrive and make sure your dining plan is active.

What are your thoughts on clothes storage space in the rooms? There will be 3 of us and we’re staying 6 nights. I’ll have a hamper for our dirty clothes. We like to fully unpack vs. live out of our suitcases.

3 drawers, clothes rack with 8-10 hangers, additional rod extension on the outside of the "storage unit", various cubicles in the same modular closet unit, some miscellaneous storage opps near the sink, and a coat rack with 5 pegs.

I always bring extra hangers, that don’t take up as much room as the provided wooden hangers do. We had three adults in one room for a week after Hurricane Irma and we did fine. Items we didn’t need frequently were stored in suitcases under the bed, we divided up the drawers, cubbies, and hanging space, and didn’t have any issues with space. Since we were using both beds, we put one chair on either end of the dresser to serve as table space.
