We are arriving around 1:00 on Saturday and have a 5:00 ressie for Hoop De Doo. By the time we ck in at 3:00 (since we're the last week in march not expecting room to be ready early),
we'll need to leave for the dinner show at Pioneer Hall. Everyone says allow plenty of time to get there...so my question is should we drive or bus it from CBR to Fort Wilderness for the show? If drive, how do we find out how to get there...

Best to drive over to FW. Disney transportation will probably take an hour. Make sure you allow plenty of time because you park at the front of the campground and board a bus to get to Pioneer Hall which is in the back of the campground.

We'll be staying at the CBR. This may be a silly question, but if we drive, about how much time should we allow to get to the show? Also, anyone know what time the show usually starts or is there more than one?

jdads2 - thanks for the web-site !
It is great to know how long it wil take from a resort to a Park.
I just looked up all our routes from the Dolphin to ......
THANK YOU :)

This is what we did and it worked well for us. We were staying at the ASMo and had 5:00pm PS for the HDDR on a Friday night in Jan. The crowds were low to moderate this day because it was MLK week-end. We took our resort bus to MK and then caught the boat over to Fort Wilderness. We allowed close to two hours but it took well under a hour. This was fine because we got to check out the petting zoo, playground and such at the campground. We enjoyed the boat ride very much. We were advised not the take the boat back to MK because they closed just as the show was getting out and that we would encounter a lot of wait time. Our plan was to take a bus to DD and then to our resort. However when we came out of the show there was a bus going to every resort to take us back. The trasportaion system worked great!! It was our favorite evening at WDW.

When you check in at hotel make sure you get your Hoop Dee Doo tickets there; that will avoid having to stand in line at FW to get the tickets. Also make sure you get your pass to put in your car window for parking.

If you leave CBR by 3, you will have plenty of time to get there by Disney transport. One way would be bus to MK and then boat to FW. By Disney transport, it can take an hour at that time of day but probably not more than 1 1/4 hours and could be as low as 45 to 50 minutes (a lot depends on how long you need to wait for a transport). Note, they just recently announced that FW is going to have direct transport to MGM and Epcot (used to have to switch at TTC). Not sure when that will go into effect but if it is in place by time you arrive, you could also bus to MGM and then catch the FW bus there (MGM is less than 1/2 mile from CBR entrance).

If you drive, the shortest route is as follows:

Exit CBR and turn right onto Buena Vista Drive, go to Bonnet Creek Parkway (about 1/2 mile) and take a left. Take that road till it ends and take a left onto Vista Blvd. You will come to the back WDW gate where there is a guard who will waive you in if your car has that pass. First right thereafter will be FW parking area. From there you need to take an internal bus to Pioneer Hall (the parking lot is on the north end of the property about 1 1/2 miles from Pioneer Hall and internal busses come regularly to the parking lot bus stop. That car trip will take about 5 to 10 minutes. The internal bus trip adds another 10 to 15.

We also took the bus to the Magic Kingdom and the boat to Fort Wilderness. It worked great.

Something that hasn't been mentioned to drive or bus is if you are planning on drinking. The Sangria at the Hoop Dee Doo is very good. It was worth it to us to not have to worry about driving after.
