EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot's Photos 12/2018

There are three Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spots and one Fast Pass+ Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot.

I like this one whenever I leave the finish of the last EPCOT Candlelight Processional.

It is small, but it is on the opposite side of the front of the EPCOT entrance located between Germany and Italy. This view is looking toward China with the Handicap sign. Sometimes a Disney cast member doesn't show up to add the extra rope to close off the area, but when they do they allow scooter/wheelchairs and guests in. It is nice that guests have a few benches to sit on also.

Technically, only wheelchairs and scooters are allowed next to the fence and guests can stand behind them, but that is sometimes not enforced by Disney cast members for whatever reason. I think that an unfriendly confrontation with guests may be one reason.

This is a photo from the opposite side looking back toward Italy and the American Pavillions.

And this is the view looking from my wheelchair. You will have to take my word for it that it was a great view even with the bushes because I can see the globe and lake above the bushes.

This second Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot is very nice to sit during the day under the shaded trees and listening to the Canadian stage music behind the area. But the trees can block some of the high fireworks. That doesn't always bother guests.

I only took a photo of one side and you can barely see the pole on the other side. It is larger than the for first Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot that I listed above with more length. It is facing the front of EPCOT for a fast exit using a shortcut through the sidewalk toward Journey of Imagination until you get near the Spaceship Earth when you join the rest of the crowd.

This is the view for the fireworks. I like relaxing here during the day, but not for fireworks all of the time.

This third Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot always fills up early and people sometimes wait in line at the 8:00 P.M. opening time with the Disney cast member sets up the rope fence to block off the area.

It is not a lengthy area, but it is one of the best viewing spots if you get there early enough to get next to the fence. It is not unusual to see two to three scooters/wheelchairs back to back beside side to side. You can also see the wrapped up the rope to used to close off the area at night. You can also see the other side of the rope fence. To my far right out of the photo is the EPCOT Friendship boat dock and that area is sometimes used for special corporate events. Most special events are held on the opposite mirror side of this area. That area no longer has a Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot. Several nights I saw some kind of dessert part in that whole area and it was fenced off.

It is a great view.

I roll across to the side of the roped area because you can't enter from this side. When the rope is set up, it only used by those that have EPCOT Fast Pass+ reservations. And they also fill up all of the spaces, too. The reason there is no other roped off area is that all of that space past this roped off area is all open, but most guest go to the center of the area.

EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot's Photos 12/2018

There are three Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spots and one Fast Pass+ Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot.

As mentioned briefly in the previous photo, this is my favorite spot to watch Illumination fireworks if I get a Fast Pass+ and I am at the front of the Fast Pass+ queue line.

That's because now that I am in a wheelchair I can go all of the way to the front and have a front, center row view like the EPCOT Illumination fireworks were meant to be seen.

When I used a scooter, I sat in my scooter seat at least one or two people behind those standing right next to me. I am talking about the very front row. In a scooter, I felt closed in by all those standing next to me and I could only see straight and not side to side because of all the guest-packed in next to me and behind me.

This is my view sitting in my wheelchair. There is a roped off area about one yard before the stone fence and the bushes. I will be able to see the Earth when it arrives where the American Pavillion is seen behind it. I probably would not do this if I were late and I would go to my left in the Fast Pass+ handicap viewing area.

When the whole area is full and I sit back further, there is always someone standing in front of me to block my view.

This is my view sitting in my wheelchair turned around 180 degrees. Yes, I was early. The hill rises up. I tried several places in the area, but I could never see the lake like I could on the front row.

I stopped by earlier to see where the top area looked like. They have roped off the area so that you can't sit on these walls, either. So this is the back of the EPCOT Illuminations Fast Pass+ looking toward Mexico. Anyone standing taller than a wheelchair can easily see the lake from here unless someone tall is in front of you. It's hard to tell that this space goes down in height from right to left to the front where I watched. It is still a good spot.

This a terrible photo, but I am at the front of the Illumination Fast Pass+ queue line around 8:00 P.M. waiting to be let in at 9:00 P.M. for the 9:30 P.M. Illuminations. Crazy, right?

EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot's Photos 12/2018

There are three Disney designated EPCOT Handicap Illumination Viewing Spots and one Fast Pass+ Handicap Illumination Viewing Spot.

Thanks! I love the view from the FP+ spot. However, I'm wondering if the one by Germany and Italy may be the best option-by best I mean the last to fill up, because the location isn't the best for "escaping" afterwards. Since I'm going to BCV, I don't see any problem with it, and it may be available around 8:30+

The last 2 times we used the handicapped viewing area by Germany, it was already almost filled by 8pm.

I agree. Everything is getting busier. No availability at resorts, etc.

I will get there early. It is a small area with benches behind the lake. I like that view.

In December when the shows are at 2130, and the FP+line opens up front at 2000, I get there early to get in line.

I don't do that every time, but at least once in a while.

I do like the Germany area though. I usually go by there after one of the Candlelight Processional Standby Shows when I am down there for my annual December trip.
