Ever ban anyone on Facebook? Or indeed, the DIS?

I just banned someone I used to consider as one of my friends on Facebook. It was that or my sanity! The stuff he was hurling at me was very troubling and insulting, I won't even go into it.

yep, I have a long list of blocked people, which includes mutuals ie I block person A , am friends with person B but persons A's SA is also friends with person B so I block persons A's SA too, if that makes sense

Yes. The experience was just depressing. Seeing a cyber friend literally lose her mind over a relationship gone awry in RL made me cry real tears.
Her loss(es) helped me decide to step away from FB where people can be wayyyyyyy too free with their thoughts:eek:.

I blocked a friend of several friends that somehow became my friend and was making inappropriate comments about my body after I’d lost a lot of weight. Like married man with kids who is in church every Sunday and yet had his head in the gutter.

I have unfollowed a few people from time to time when I just don't want to see whatever it is they are posting obsessively (one was posting lots of graphic photos of abused animals, another was posting graphic photos of alleged aborted fetuses, etc).
I have only ever once actually blocked someone. A former classmate I knew in third grade and then again in highschool. He was building an off the grid shelter, collecting guns and posting all kinds of craziness about civil wars and him planning on fighting, etc----I felt he was truly unstable and did not feel it was safe for him to know where I or my kids are, etc.

I have unfollowed some people on Facebook due to them continually posting their political crap. Also unfollowed someone because he kept posting almost soft porn.

Never on this site, but on another that has some crazies posting, I have a few on ignore.

I have unfollowed several people on Facebook. Different reasons.
I rarely unfriend anyone. I just unfollow and then forget we are friends until they comment on something lol.

I've unfollowed several people because they posted weird/gross things I didn't want to see on my feed ( a shot of the inside of a toilet after they went to the restroom, son had got in his diaper and smeared it all over himself and mom took a pic with an lol and a woman who thought it was appropriate to take a pic of a couple's bath she and her husband were sharing).

I have no clue what is wrong with people. I don't want that nasty stuff on my feed.

ETA Couple's baths aren't nasty, but I don't want to see naked rear ends on my FB.

I had to delete a person that sells a product, Wild Tree, she was posting 2-3times a day selling herself. If that wasn't enough she would email once a day too. I saw thru a friend’s website that Facebook put her in timeout for a week. She was told she was SPAMing. She was upset and told them this was how she makes hear living, she ended up getting kicked off indefinitely. She uses her husbands account now and I am sure she will make up another user name. The only thing I like about her business is that she truly is teaching people how to prep food. But she is constantly trying to find people to hold parties and get other sellers underneath her. It is just another Ponzi scheme, but you cannot say that.

Oh so many! I don't follow any of my immediate family members other than my mom but she doesn't post anything.

I'm the opposite. I don't unfollow people, I'll just unfriend them if I find that they keep posting things I don't want to see. It seems silly to me to still stay friends if what they post upsets me to the point that I would need to hide it.

A couple ex boyfriends are on my blocked list, a former co-worker and I think that's about it. I like to keep the past in the past.

I truly dislike all the political posts on FB. It's amazing how many people will try to push their agenda on you or shame you if you don't feel the same. I lean pretty far one way, but I will never, ever post anything political on my FB because I don't want to upset or offend the other half. I no longer have anyone on the DIS on ignore. I had one for about a year but then I decided it wasn't my business to get upset about a procedure she was or was not having. I decided to let it go..and pray for her instead.

I had to block someone on here who posted an ugly, personal attack on me. The comment was so bad that it immediately got the thread closed and there was no question that I would ever want to read anything from that person again.

It doesn’t upset me. Just get tired of seeing it. Certain political posts about stuff that I know isn’t true. Or the constant stuff about animal abuse. Or one because her posts are nothing but a constant brag about how “blessed” they are ( I mean, birthday posts for her expensive car? Really?).

I know these folks irl and work with some of them. Just easier to unfollow than to get stopped at work and asked why we aren’t friends anymore.

One friend that I had a falling out IRL unfriended me.
Blocked my ex just because I didn't want him to see any pics of m kids or I. No idea if he tried and we were apart way before the invention of FB. Or before I had kids.
