Experiences with TUI transport from Sanford to Disney Hotels

Hey folks! We’re off to the beautiful Coronado Springs resort in a few weeks and I’ve spent many many months planning ADRs and FPs and we’re super excited to get there as soon as we can to get straight into the magic. It’ll be our 9th trip over but our first without a hire car.

My concern is with the TUI provided transport from Sanford to the WDW resort. Has anyone got any experience with this?

I’m sure most folks are familiar with the huge coach drop off faff in European resorts ... after waiting on a hot coach for half an hour before you set off playing the ‘which hotel is ours lottery’ and I just don’t want that after a 9 hour flight, security etc... I want to be in the bubble 😊

So... my question is this:

Is it worth just holding out and going with the TUI coach style transport or do I grab an Uber?

Personally I would if you can grab an Uber, you get more choices on the Amerasian Uber of car size then we do in the UK and you can choose a car or Limo that will suit your family size and luggage, remember the car needs to be big enough for you and the luggage.

It will be quicker, not bad on price and a lot less stressful and your go straight to your hotel and not via other hotels on route and you can relax.

Thanks for the advice. I have considered Uber as an option. I’ve had a few different opinions on what’s best. I’ve been enough times to know how it all works... just the first time without a car.

I’m well used to the tour coach in a Europe, but if the driver has turned on the engine then it is not hot.

I’d go with the paid transport, but I tend to go cheapest I can. For me it’s a days travel and it’ll still get you there.

We did it once. The coaches are literally outside baggage claim which is nice and quick. However, before they leave the airport the rep spent around 20 mins trying to sell stuff that the majority of us have already planned for months! If the price was significantly better we would consider doing Sanford again but we really didn’t enjoy it. We might consider doing a private transfer but it’s a lot of extra money when it’s a relatively short portion of the holiday!

Brilliant! Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately because we tend to use TUI they only fly into Sanford. I have heard about the sales pitch before. I’ll just switch off it if happens to us... as you say many many months have gone into my plans. I’ve heard positive and negative experiences with their transfers. I suppose I need to just experience it to see how we get on.

We decided to ditch the car after our last visit and with the introduction of resort parking fees it just cemented our decision. If it ends up being a terrible journey I’ll know for next time to sort a transfer myself or grab an Uber!
