Our local zoo has face painting as one of their attractions AKA money makers. Is it possible to get pink eye through the process? Or am I just a crazy grandma?

Our local zoo has face painting as one of their attractions AKA money makers. Is it possible to get pink eye through the process? Or am I just a crazy grandma?

A google search came up with a 2009 disboards. One person said their daughter got pick eye. A couple people said their kid got a skin rash, and one person said their kid got skin irritation.
Anything is possible.
