My family and I are sailing on the Fantasy ship at the end of the month and I am looking at upgrading our room from Mid ship (246 sq ft) to 299 sq ft but to the Aft but I am afraid of being at the back end of the boat and I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback of those rooms?

Thanks PrincessShmoo.
I saw some of those reviews already but I was hoping to get some peoples reviews who have sailed recently as I fear to much motion from the waves being in Aft compared to Mid ship but I like the larger size room...

We just got off the Fantasy - directly aft room 8188 (same room that we were in 2 yrs ago). We have also been in similar rooms on the Dream.
We LOVE these rooms with their huge balconies. There was some vibration and movement, but no one in our party was affected adversely. We have usually have felt it the most on the 1st night but this time there was definitely more movement on the last night as we headed to Port Canaveral. You do need to either take down the hangers or, as we do, put clothes on them so they don't hit each other when there is movement, and make sure that all doors/drawers are shut.

I was not far from 9130 - basically, we were in the 96xx series rooms, other side - and the vibration was noticeable.

We haven't sailed aft on the Fantasy, but we've definitely noticed the vibration in the dining rooms. We even commented that we were glad or rooms weren't in the aft section.

For me, personally, we have sailed mid-ship and then directly aft (the rooms on the very back with the huge balconies looking backwards). For that balcony I would stay aft every time. We did a 7 night on the Fantasy in room 9674 - vibrations were not horrible most nights, but the last night was bad. Had to take down the hangers. Would totally do it again for that verandah though. In fact, we loved the verandah so much we booked 8188 on the dream for our next cruise. Being 2 floors below cabanas was ideal for us. We could grab food quick. Below are some clubs and we let the kids stay in the room one night while we went for a drink. The location was nice!

Would the vibration you feel not make you want to travel aft again?
On our Fantasy cruise (not in an all the way aft room, but still more aft than mid-ship) the vibration was so bad (on deck 10) that the bed felt like those cheap motel vibrating beds. You couldn't sit on the bed, head against the headboard, to watch the TV. And several nights we watched water glasses go dancing off the tables due to it.

Yes, it was that bad. Almost every night. The vibration is there anytime the ship hits 20 knots or above (mostly at night).

Would it stop me from cruising on the Fantasy again? No, but I'd go knowing that's going to happen.
