Give me your favorite overused sayings that are totally true?

I like "don't borrow trouble" (I say this in my head all the time) and "you'll find love when you stop looking for it."

Not so sure the above is really true. I stopped looking for love over 20 years ago and never had it find me. The closest I have gotten was in the past few months but that is far from love, far from serious and I would be very surprised if it turned into more.

Lol, maybe it's a fairytale single people tell themselves? It comes up a lot.

ETA: the not borrowing trouble thing comes up far more though!

I was chuckling when I saw this. My father and his brothers are gathering next week. When together it will be little more than humorous phrases and cliches said between them.

A common cliche my grandmother would say ~ The early bird gets the worm. In some senses she meant it to, you were late arriving 10 minutes early.

Its funny, I say most of those and by far my fav is - you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

But, you catch the most with dead squirrels.
