fboy gets Wounded on the hulk

Another reason (as if I needed any) for me not to ride Hulk. ;)

BTW, Barry, Ohai, and I went to the same First Aid office to get bandaids for Ohai's blister. Not only did they not call our moms, they didn't give us any drinks either.

Hope you had fun otherwise!

Aloha,

You either:

1. Hit a tree.
2. Hit yourself.
3. Hit the train.
4. You have unusually thin skin that just handle the intense motion of ride.
5. Hit Barry's money belt.

:p

Sorry it happened. I'm glad it was not serious. I wonder what might have caused it. There really isn't anything to hit.

There's really nothing for you to get cut on. In all of the excitement, it's hard to say when and where it happened. It might have even happened before you got on.

I agree with Earl - especially since you say it was your elbow that was bleeding. There is nothing on the vehicles that you could scrape your elbow on during the ride.

It also doesn't sound like your experience hurt much. If, in the middle of the ride, you suddenly felt pain in your elbow - I would have guessed that you got hit by something a guest threw at the train as you went under the bridge (yes, it happens, and yes, that's why Universal has that entire area videotaped).

From your trip report, I would venture to say you cut your elbow on your locker (did you use one?) or something in the queue - particularly since you used the singles line (chain link fence, etc).

I didn't use a locker for the sake that it takes to long to get it. I guess i could have hit it on something out of the ride. The people at ioa are just so nice thats what i love about that park!

The standard thrill rider position is hands off the grab rails and usually extended as high into the air as possible. Well once by accident, I struck a few leaves of overhanging shrubbery/tree and was slightly cut. No MED attention neccessary, but blood was drawn.
HAVE FUN

where is there actually trees around the hulk? I thought they got blown away from the "gamma radiation"

There are trees. If you look after the first brake run, you can see all sorts of shrubbery. The only way you can possibly hit them is sticking your arms out to the sides.

The shrubbery is impossible touch from the train, and is kept that way for this reason.

i hear you IOATech, and they have really clipped it back this year, but last year the left side could reach out and pull greenery to bring back to the ride attendents. they just looked at us funny.
guess they caught on eh!!!:pinkbounc

This type of injury reminds me of the time I cut myself while waiting to ride Dueling Dragons. Somehow, one of my fingers scrapped the wooded posts and it bleed like a...The blood was evident after I finished riding it. The CM...err employees escorted me to first aid and fixed my boo-boo. I applaud their reaction to my cut, but they need to make sure that the wood doesn't kill anyone on the queue of DD!
