First female college coach hired by an NBA team

So the Cleveland Cavaliers have hired Linday Gottlieb (previous head coach at Cal) as an assistant coach. She's not the first woman to coach in the NBA, but the first to be hired from the college coaching ranks.

She's going to be missed in Berkeley. She took Cal to their only Final Four appearance.
