Foolish Mortals, The travels of Truck 999, The HDT.

Not sure about the picture of Reba. She kinda has that look of "I'm just sittin' here, I'm not gonna get in any trouble". LOL.
My kids have been asking ever other day or so if you've posted more pics of her.:dogdance:

So we got our new locks for the trailer and got them installed.

is that a squirrel ?

New locks look good More important though is that looks like one very effective security system you have there. I am guessing it will be very effective against the NSS when the time comes

So here we go....truck talk....ok, more of show and tell. :teacher:

Drivers side of truck

Passenger side.

The cab has two beds, the upper one in the picture is secured in the travel position. The workstation converts to a bed, just like in an RV.

Behind the drivers seat I have a cabinet with three shelves behind the door, two drawer and space up top for microwave.

IMG_7664-1.jpg

Behind the passenger side is a cabinet the previous owner removed the doors, so we need to do something in the future. I will make a sweet cabinet out of wood. and a storage space above for a tv.

IMG_7667-1.jpg

Storage shelf that wraps around the whole upper side of the windshield. The dog is in a netted area, there is another to the right and one also above the drivers side.

Our favorite camping spot....

The hitch from the side, mount was custom made by a local metal fabricator.

And before our Gulf trip in May baby needed some new shoes, to the tune of about 2K. That was just the four tires on the rearmost axle. These trucks will run forever, but some parts come with big prices. On the plus side, the tires will last around 8 years and I will not be able to put enough miles on them to wear out the tread.

I don't know why exactly but I keep singing "Little Nash Rambler" over here. :D

I'm thinking if you BEEP BEEP from Illinois, the Fort Wilderness CM's will hear you coming....

Looks spacious. I see now from the inside pics how well the hood mounted mirrors seem to cover the blind spot well

Yes two cup holders on my side, and one that slides out of the dash for the passenger. The left cup holder is soda can sized, the other mug sized.
Yes the hood mounted mirrors are sweet, I use them as much as I use the door mounted ones. There are very few blind spots with this set up.
There is a ton of room, as one can imagine the dog really enjoys it. Truckers live in them while on the road, so there is plenty of room to stand up, etc.

So we picked up the trailer on Saturday from the dealership, lights fixed, toilet fixed, breaker fixed, only issue remaining is our GFCI, which may be related to our power cord. Dealership said they could not replicate the problem, came home and within a minute had the same issue occur 3 times in 38 seconds. Think they are going to replace our power cord without me dragging the trailer down again.
Loaded up and ready to continue with the camping season, gonna try to get in a few trips. We have a couple planned to start and are trying to add a weekend or two before the season ends.
Also need to start planning a Disney trip.....

I have had issues with a GFI circuit on an RV or mostly race trailers. When the GFI didn't like the grounding in the trailer.

We have had issues with this circuit from just about day one, but every so often it will work fine...once in a blue moon kinda thing. Maybe this winter pull the access panel to the electric panel and see what I can find, if the dealer has not had any luck. Just with it under warranty still, no need for me to work on it.

I can cure the jealousy....just usually takes one look at my fuel bill when I fuel up. 200 gallons of diesel oh the joy.

Well we are packed and ready for a camping weekend. Pick up nephews after school tomorrow, hit the road and hopefully the weather holds out. Once we get back I want to raise our leveling jacks up about an inch or two, so they do not scrape when we place the trailer in storage.

So this weekend found us with the nephews, and that means...camping time. So friday the DW picked them up after school, came home and we loaded everyone in the truck and off go. It was raining, and we pulled in to the campground about 730, as it was getting dark. There was a line at the check in hut and we were 5th in line, all those in front of us were cabin campers, how can I tell...no trailers. So we finally get checked in and get an escort to our campsite. It was tight, we took our time, and backed in first shot. Had an audience watching the big truck back in. Had two other campers come out to help us back in, one watching the front and the fence right across from our site the other helping the DW spot me.
Here are some pictures from the weekend.

The space between the truck and the fence in the pictures it just enough for a vehicle to pass thru and when we finished I was up against am embankment, could not back any further. It was tight, but we made it, in the dark. oh yes.

Rain, so what, let's go tubing...

I know you want to stay dry, but really, half way in the road it a bit much.....

What are all of you doing ???

So not only put your pagoda half way in the road, then park there also.....
