My sisters and I are going to Paris either the end of August or beginning of September next year. I would like to spend 2 nights in Paris and then go over to DLP for 5 nights. Looking for suggestions on moderate priced hotels so we can see the sights in Paris.

If you don't have any kids with you I'd recommend the little boutique property we stayed at in May: The Hotel Original by the Bastille. The rates were reasonable, the hospitality was superb and the neighbourhood was really cool. Super-easy access to everywhere via the Bastille subway station that was literally only yards away.

We stayed in the Hotel Palm of the Astotel group, which has several boutique hotels. We really liked the hotel as they had breakfast included, free soft drinks and coffee in the lobby in the afternoon and evening and a number of good affordable restaurant places around - kind of where the locals would go, not just a bunch of tourists. The prices were really good for Paris in our opinion, but this before the terror attack and I noticed that hotel prices since then have gone down.

This is the hotel: https://en.astotel.com/hotel/palm-opera-en/overview The group has various other hotels that looked very nice as well.

I can't recommend Hotel Malte highly enough. It's also part of the Astotel group. We spent four nights there in May and I miss it. I wish I could live there. It's an easy walk to the Louvre (a couple blocks north), rooms were lovely, breakfast was included and you can pop into any of the Astotels for snacks and drinks (free) during the day. The drinks in the minibar in the room are also free.

Thank you for all your suggestions. We were going to stay 7 nights at the Disneyland resort and travel to Paris for a day trip. After reading advise on the boards I decided on the 2 nights in Paris first. Less travel time and it will save some money. My daughter in law just gave me the okay to bring my granddaughter along who will be 10 at the time. I want to be sure we are in a central location. I've been reading about the on and off bus for getting around the city. I love the planning stages, so much to do but so much fun.
