Did anyone do this last year? I really do like high tea. Was curious what you thought of it if you did do it. The first weekend appears you can now make reservations online.

Just to clarify, this is "Afternoon Tea" and not "High Tea". High tea is more of a dinner, whereas traditional afternoon tea is designed to hold you over til dinner.

That said, we've done all of the afternoon teas at Steakhouse 55, and we really enjoy them. The Halloween tea is fun. I suggest making reservations as early as you can as we almost missed last years. They would come online at 3am, and be sold out by 5am, when this west coaster wakes up. Luckily, I have a friend who doesn't go to bed til 5am, so she snagged us all spots. As soon as it gets out, those spots will get sold out.

We did it last year and I loved it! Now, I will say, I am a HUGE Halloween fan, so that helps! I will see if I can find a few pics for you from our tea.

I couldn't get a reservation for Halloween tea last year because they filled up so fast. I learned my lesson for Christmas and booked a regular tea 2 months out, thinking it may switch to Christmas tea aka Holiday tea, which it did. My takeaway is that if you want to do anything that requires a reservation for halloween, book it as soon as the date becomes available, well before there is any announcement that it will be special for a holiday.

I would like to do this when we're there in October.

We usually go thru 3 pots of tea per person, the teas vary all year, but they usually have some very good special teas for each holiday.

I looked for the cost and can't seem to find it.
What was the cost last year?

And this may sound like a strange question - but what if someone doesn't like tea? I do, DD does not.

Children's tea is $39, Classic is $59, Premium is $79. Premium includes the salad, glass of Fairy Tale, and truffles to take home.

My granddaughter had hot chocolate. Sodas are also available. You can also get the various teas iced. We usually choose 2 hot teas, then finish with an iced tea, and take some to go!

Pretty sure the first weekend date is available according to the website.

Thanks so much guys for the amazing photos and info.
Oh man, I think my son and I are definitely going to have to do this at the end of September!
We love high tea / afternoon tea and usually do it once or twice a year here at home for our birthdays.
I'd seen it mentioned at D/L Hotel before on the website but wasn't going to bother - we felt like DLH was miles away when we went to Goofy's!
These pictures look too good to miss it however - my 11yr old son would love it!! I might book it as a surprise.
We are there for 8 days so we actually have plenty of time - I might schedule it for the Sat or Sun when the parks will be busier and we can get away in the afternoon for a nice break - if the monorail is running we could always take that across there.
My son is already soooo excited. We are doing 2 x MHP's whilst we are there - he wants me to wait till he's here to buy the tickets so he can see!
We have to wait till Monday PM / evening our time here in Oz - can't come quick enough for us : )

OK, I need to correct myself. Looking back, prices were $30 for kids, $50 for classic, $65 for premium. The glass of Fairy Tale is a $19 price, so it makes the premium tea a great value. The salad is really good too. My daughter declared the Christmas salad the best salad she had ever had. (It had this spearmint dressing that was fantastic!)

Is the Christmas afternoon tea only served on weekends? My sis and I will make our annual trip Dec 4-7 (M-Th).

Are afternoon teas only at the DLH? Does anyone have photos of a regular (non-holiday) afternoon tea?
Steakhouse 55 hosts the Classic Afternoon Tea.

Here is a pic from tea in July of the food plates. Then we have a pic of the menu of tea items.

Each tier is for 2 people. You generally get 2 scones, 4 finger sandwiches, and 3-4 dessert items (a choc covered Strawberry, a fruit tart, and a couple of macarons.) You can't see it but it also comes with a dish of Devonshire cream, some lemon curd, and a raspberry jam.

Thanks for sharing! Looks delicious!

Thanks for suggesting we book a regular afternoon tea, which hopefully will turn in to a special one! I'm going to have a go at doing that to see if I can get a Halloween tea. I'd love that, the pics look gorgeous!
