Can a dirty martini be far behind? Actually, after being sick all last week, I haven't had a drink in two weeks, but I'm kicking back now.

Penny what's your poison?

Mike, where you been?

I'm relaxing because as of 8 AM tomorrow I'm on my way to Cleveland for the week - work.

Hey, Noah, I'm grilling some DelMonicos. Should I put a few on for you guys?

That sounds pretty good to me! Actually, I am a little excited about what is going on in my kitchen right now. I have had a busy busy day and just got home now. DH is in the kitchen and won't let me in or tell me what he is doing. He did bring me a glass of wine though so I am a happy camper! :teeth:

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. At least it sounds like you are in for a good night tonight!

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

Well, 8:30 AM is going to come around pretty quickly and find me driving 8 hours to Cleveland, where I'll be teaching for the week.

Noah - let us know what's for dinner!

Here I am! Got my butt handed to me at work today, so sign me up for a dirty! Actually I have some beer in the fridge, think I'm going to pop one of those! I'll be working 6 days next week, so life has been hectic.

BUT only 20 days till my vacation!

OOooooh, Mike. What happened at work? Can you share? I'll be working hard all week too, twelve hour days all week, so I'll send some good thoughts your way. I had to stop the dirties at one because I've got a loooonnnggg drive in front of me early tomorrow morning. Cleveland, here I come!

We had a thunderstorm go acorss property, they closed both courses, which means you have 150 big burly golfers comming in for beer, all at the same time!

Waffle House service at it's best!

Oh well, I think we made most of them happy, and now it'a "Miller Time" for me, all in a days work. :)

You would be amazed! Viki, have a great week, Cleveland? I'll be landing there in 20 days to start my journey to Sandusky! Woo Hoo!

He turned out to be making linguini with shrimp scampi. It was pretty good! I didn't know he had it in him, especially after a day of work. Add that to a great bottle of wine and it was a lovely night!

I guess I am too late, but have a great trip Viki!

And StormTigger, I have never had it, but boy does Hot Chocolate w/ Chocolate Temptation Cream liqueur sound good! I might have to add that to my list for a cold winter's day.

I'm not sure it was a great trip, but it was a safe one and that's a lot given I was driving through five hours of torrential rain before I finally came out on the other side for another two hours.

Yes, Cleveland. I wish I was here for the park, Mike, or at the very least for a game, but it's all work. One of the many hats I wear is as a faculty member of a professional organization, so I get to travel around the country teaching and training. It's a lot of work, but it's also very rewarding and usually lots of fun. Today's a planning session. Tomorrow the troups descend!

Hey, you guys had a party without me?! And the way things have been going lately I could have used a good time!

Viki - I hope you have a great trip. I was out of town for work a week ago (Newport, RI) and I didn't get to see too much outside of the hotel. Have a safe journey.

Mike - I keep telling you that you should be coming to Buffalo instead!!! Come on ... we have Niagara Falls, Lake Erie and chicken wings (alright, they're not on a stick as you seem to be so insistant about but they're close!). And the Maid of the Mist is back in the water ... I suggest riding it without the plastic raincoat they give you. :thumbsup2

I dont even do log rids without a poncho! Last year this little kid asked us "Mr. and Mrs...... Why dont you want to get wet?" at which point we replied "Ask your mother about chaffing!"

Hey Sue, I loved going on the Maid of the Mist! That was years ago though. Has it not been operating lately?

Viki - sorry I missed the party! I was a slacker and didn't check the board this weekend. We're getting ready for a garage sale next weekend (need funds for WDW trip in 2 weeks!), so we were frantically searching for "stuff".

Glad you had a safe trip Viki!

Penny, there's no need to worry -they take the boats out for the winter (boats don't like ice ... think Titanic) and put them back in the water in the spring, usually mid-April depending on the weather.

Most of us here in Orlando don't work a regular, hence tonight (Monday) is actually my Sunday this week, back to work tomorrow.

Today I went to Home Depot yet again, dropped a small fortune in Target, made room in the attic for tomorrow's visit by an electrician, did some yard work, gave a cat a bath, cleaned the aquarium, a few loads of laundry, made homemade salsa and shepherds pie, and cleaned my bathroom.

Needless to say I'm now in the process of making a very strong dirty if anyone wants to join in.

Oh! I forgot! I booked my cabin at Cedar Point also! Yoo Hoo~! 20 days to go! (Sorry Sue, maybe next time, you know, when you get 16 roller coasters in your back yard and you can figure out how to put a Buffalo Wing on a stick) :rotfl:

If you were going in the middle of the summer then I would insist that you go directly to the front of the boat, stay on the lower level and discard the raincoat (actually, it's more like a dry cleaning bag!). But if you're going soon then I suggest you wear a sweatshirt and a waterproof jacket ... the mist can be mighty cold this time of year! There's lots to do - the Cave of the Winds (American side), Devil's Hole, whirlpool jet boat, wonderful wineries, casinos and much more. You'll have a great time ... even if Mike won't listen to me!!

Sue,

I love the Niagra Falls/Buffalo area, but it's just not Cedar Point.

Cedar Point for me is like Disney for many of you, Paradise!

It should be hot weather when we go, so I definitely appreciate the advice about the lower level and front of the boat! And I'll be sure to bring my dry cleaning (actually, "Maid of the Mist" would be a good name for a steam-cleaning company) and hand it to a random stranger, maybe at the casino (in the bag, of course). Thanks again. It sounds like great fun.
