Holiday Inn Review

Anybody have any idea what time the shuttle bus starts running each morning? Would you be able to get in for 8am or do they not start until later?

How long after the park closes do the shuttles run? Is there enough time to do a bit of Village shopping, or do you run the risk of missing the last bus home? :scared1:

I think someone said the shuttles start as early as about 6/6.30am & I think they run until at least midnight during peak times.

looks lovely :)

we were going to stay onsite when we go back in Nov,but we might stay here now

£113 for a family room for 2 nights, not inc brekkie

seems much cheaper than any of the others that are closeish by ?

We stayed here on 14th Feb 09 for 1 night before moving to DLH just after it changed to be Magic Circus Hotel from Holiday Inn.

The rooms were identical to how they were before. There was still the curtained off area round the childs bed and the extra TV.

There was a kettle and tea/coffee facitities as before.

Some extra touches were bathrobes, a large bottle of water and a plate of petit fours when we arrived.

There were still large bottles of soap and shower gel but also some small bottles as well - all Occident de Provence including shampoo and body lotion. Also a shoe shine kit, sewing kit, tissues etc

We didnt eat in the restaurant - even breakfast so I dont know if there were any changes there.

The pool area was still closed so again I cant comment on changes there.

Our room was ready when we arrived and check in was easy although there was a large queue to check out the following day.

The bar area seemed a bit less formal - it always reminded me of an airport lounge before but we only walked through so I cant comment on service or price of drinks.
There were several pool , table football and ice hockey tables all costing approx 2 Euros I think.

We would definitely stay here again

I loved this hotel . Lots of space in the public areas, we arrived at around 9.30pm on Sunday evening, and there was no-one else at check-in.

Our room was right at the end of a wing on the 2nd floor, lovely and quiet, and overlooked the side front of the hotel, where we could look over and see the top of the Santa Fe and Newport Bay hotels, and the Tower of Terror :goodvibes. Our room had a HUGE king size bed, wardrobe with plenty of storage and hanging space, safe, 2 chairs, 2 bedside tables, suitcase rack, and corner dresser unit with large mirror, plug sockets right underneath it, and tv and drinks making facilities. The bathroom was lovely and clean, with a good hairdryer, and well stocked with handwash, shower cream, and tissues. Hand towels and bath towels too, which can be used in the swimming pool area of the hotel.

I really couldn't fault this hotel at all. The swimming pool is much larger and much nicer than the official photos show, it has sunloungers around it, jets in the main pool and along one side, and its shallow enough for quite a way for children to be able to splash about too. There is also a completely separate shallow paddling area with mini-slide, which also gets the jet treatment :). There are signs up saying that towels can be hired for 2 euros each, and that the pool is open from 7am to 9pm, but I think thats only when the pool and fitness room area is manned by staff, as we were in the pool until around 10pm, and there were still guests coming down to use it when we left.

We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening, but breakfast in the morning was a very civilised affair, with no more than about 20 or 30 tables being occupied in the restaurant. However, the hotel did appear to be quiet. The breakfast here is comparable with the onsite hotels, you can have veal sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon also though, at no extra charge.

I paid less for the Magic Circus this year, than I paid for the Explorers this time last year. For me, the Magic Circus is a better hotel, it just feels more substantial somehow.

Big thumbs up from me for the Magic Circus hotel :thumbsup2

Our flight back home doesnt leave until late evening. Does anyone know if we can check out and leave our luggage in a room somewhere and maybe hang out at the pool after checking out if the weather is nice ?

Not sure about the luggage as we always leave ours at Guest Storage at the Park.

You need your room key to access the swimming pool area. If they deactivate your key at check-out time then you may not be able to use the pool.

I'll add some Magic Circus photos from my recent trip.

In 2015 we stayed at Dream Castle and named it *Dusty* for... that reason. As Magic Circus is Dream Castle's twin i assume it didn't want to stay behind and so it was dusty as well... dust everywhere.. on the bedroom desk, on the bed side desks, under the television, on the carpet. And if this was not enough... mould in the bathroom and the toilet seat half broken. Shame because it would be a lovely hotel even some parts of it would need a refurbishment.

The pool looks great even though i wanted to try it but it opened at 8 am and so decided to skip it to avoid brekkie's queue.

In the bedroom there is a kettle and teas and coffees, there is a little fridge but it was empty ( i suppose to avoid people had to queue to pay on leaving).

Bed was ok, we had been given a family room and it had a double bed and a bunk bed too so we could use the pillows of both as they were very small and no way i could use a roll pillow...

Breakfast was english and continental (sweet and sour i mean) and this is the very first hotel where i have seen two detox water dispensers for breakfast. I am impressed.
