Hello all! We are taking a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and am looking for suggestions for a hotel the night before? Thanks in advance!!!

There are so many options. Might help to have a few details. You can go with low key or up to beach front. Do you have a preference with chains? Do you want breakfast included,? Need or want full service restaurants? Are shuttles or airport access important at all?

Shuttle and breakfast would be nice, but really just looking for a descent hotel for a descent price.

Just stayed at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport (which is outside the airport proper BTW, but close and therefore probably close to port too) and it was fantastic. Cheap(ish) rate like low 200s which I feel is “cheap” nowadays. Hotel about one year old. Room was on par with a luxury hotel - although that could be because they upgraded us to next category, but I’d imagine the furnishings are similar in all rooms and we certainly were not in a suite or anything super upgraded. Breakfast not included but they have room service where you put placard on your door the night prior before midnight and you pick your breakfast delivery time. Which hotels are still doing this post-covid? Haven’t seen that in a while. It was awesome! And the food/coffee/juice was really tasty. Service was on point. Beds were comfy. Bill was correct. No complaints.

Not sure if there’s a shuttle and it’s in an area that’s getting built up so it’s not in the middle of the city with tons of restaurants outside but definitely recommend. Ask for a room away from the construction project next door. We had zero noise.

I just booked Springhill Suites by Marriott Ft Lauderdale Airport/Cruise. Free transport to.from airport. $20.00 shuttle to cruise terminal. Free breakfast. $238.63.

We stayed a couple nights in February at the Rolo Beach hotel. I recommend it if you're looking for a relatively cheap little independent hotel walking distance to the beach. The manager is extremely pleasant!

Embassy Suites - Ft. Lauderdale - 17th St

All the usual perks - evening drinks, breakfast buffet, etc.

We drove and it was super close to the ships.

Hyatt Cruise Port:

Close to the ships. Rooms can sleep 5 if that applies to you. Free breakfast. They have a shuttle to the port but may be more economical to book an Uber. Publix within walking distance if you wanted to pick up wine or drinks for the cruise, as are a number of restaurants. It's close to the Embassy Suites mentioned before (which has the advantage of the happy hour).

We did Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Marina and liked the location. You can see the Cruise ships on the docks and can walk to the Water Taxi, or just stroll down the docks and check out the Private Yachts. We got a shuttle from there to the Cruise Port. About a 5 minute ride.

17th St is a very popular pre/post cruise area. The Boatyard is a great place for happy hour in case you wanna get the party started a day early.
