How much does WDW wedding cost?

I have seen a lot of posts from couples who were married at WDW. It seems as if that would cost a fortune! Can you guesstimate how much a wedding there would cost? Just curious. Thanks!

Too much.

When I got engaged I looked into a WDW wedding. It was WAY too expensive, even the cheapest offer, not even counting airfare and whatnot.

My wife and I got married at WDW in the gazebo outside the Yacht Club about 11 years ago now. We had Cinderella's coach, stayed a week on the concierge level of the Yacht Club, had LOS passes etc. I think the whole thing only cost us $5,000 or so. (the carriage was about 1,500 or maybe 2k at the time). This was just before the Wedding Pavilion was even started so it was still a relatively newer concept.

I think now it is basically the price of a "regular" wedding - maybe a little more. Depends on how many extra's you get. I would head over the the Wedding/Honeymoons boards and ask there. You will have the "target" audience to answer your questions.

I still love that we did it though. We own at the BCV's and everything we go there we walk right by where we got married. pretty cool.......Our little ones don't really care , but that's ok!

we are getting married custom wedding at wdw this march 21st & cant wait wdw is part of the family to us & we wanted something different for our big day. our ceremony is still going to be spiritual, we'll still have the sit down dinner & dancing but well have all kinds of extras & pre/post wedding activities you cant get anywhere else. plus dftw provides a sales manager & planner so the process is relatively easy.

Where will your sit down wedding be, just out of curiousity? I looked up weddings there, and it was just a little bit more than a wedding in NY cost. A lot less than I expected, thats for sure!

Cost for the meal (the minimum required) varies depending on day of the week and time of the day, as well as location. Theme park venues and Grand Floridian cost more than other places, but I believe the minimums are from $75-$125 per person plus tax and gratuity. It is very true, you can have a Disney wedding for what many of us would have paid to get married at home. The big difference for me was at home more people would have been there. I decided it was more important to make is easier for my family to be there and to have a wonderful time at my wedding.

For an 8 night stay with dining, a wedding, photographer, I paid a whole lot LESS than what I would have paid for a wedding at home. At home I would have had to worry about flowers, decorating, cake, reception, officiant, photographer that wasn't affordable, etc....

With Disney I had a wonderful intimate ceremony with family and best friend there. We did get Randy Chapman for photography and I was a lot more impressed with him than I am local photographers, and his price was very realistic.

I was very impressed with my Disney wedding and honeymoon. I actually have a couple of friends who are now considering a Disney wedding because of how affordable it was to me.

If I had gone custom I think I still would have paid less for it than a wedding at home that would have lived up to guests opinions of what a wedding should be. I had

I would just like to say that I feel as though an intimate wedding is very affordable. I never considered getting married in Disney World until I went online to book our family's vacation. I ended up seeing a link to the Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons site and thought wow this sounds great and affordable!

I was relieved about having a 'package' deal where someone else put everything together, based on our choices, and we just showed up! My fiance and I wanted to get married this year but didn't want to spend tens of thousands of dollars either. We built a home 2 years ago, we have two beautiful children, I was finishing up school, and both of us are full-time workers so you can see why we ended up going this route.

Anyway, we moved our family vacation from this summer to next month, booked the DFW intimate package and have about 15 guests joining us. We booked a 7 day package at the Caribbean Beach resort, wedding at Sunset Pointe for less than $4,000.00.

We also lucked up on airline tickets. I got my family of four tickets on Southwest Airlines, roundtrip for only $328.00. Yep, I downloaded the "Ding" from SWA and got a ding for MCO the next day!

I think the high cost of a disney wedding is relative. Living in NY, had I gotten married at home, we would have had a guest list of 250-300 people and the wedding would have cost between 35 and 50 grand. Instead we got married in Disney, had 76 guests that we really wanted to be there and had much more special and memorable wedding for $25,000. Throwing a wedding is an expensive proposition, no matter where you do it.

Same thing for us. We're getting married next August and for our Disney Wedding for 75 people, the Wedding Pavilion, Living Seas Recption, Cinderella Carriage and a whole bunch of extras for alomst $20,000. I think that's fairly resonable for a wedding that I want.

I think WDW is pretty resonable! You get pretty much a first class wedding and a amazing experience(one that many do not experience) for starting at 10,000 midweek and you can do a intitmate wedding for around 5000! If we were going to get married here in Colorado we would still of spent around 17,000 for our 100 pl but only would of had a "ok" wedding but instead we are having 20pl and doing a custom wedding midweek and having a truely magial experience for us and our guests! It will be something our familys will be talking about forever.....I hope
What I think is really helpfull is to go on disneyweddings and registar for the wish book get both the intimate and the custom and see what fits you. Its a great start!

LOL except in Vegas!! LOL We live in Las Vegas and EVERYONE (yes, EVERYONE) keeps asking us why we are paying what we are paying to have a Custom Disney Wedding when you can have a small wedding for under $800.00 out here. Really, $800.00 tops for 30 people. My brother did it. I think that's pretty cheap for 30 people.

The people that are coming to disney are the people that it was most important for us to have the rest were people that are friends of our parents or distant relatives that you just have to invite. The second difference and probably the most important to me is that I haven't had to search for locations, florist, DJ/band, etc. I think if I had to worry about that stuff I would have been a crazy person most of the year. Plus we probably would have had to wait until next spring to get married. The third difference that since we had less people we could spend more money the extras like characters at the reception, a dessert part, and decor.

With 2 1/2 weeks to go before my wedding I am 100% sure that for the same money I am getting a wedding that is 100 times better than anything I could have had at home.

DITTO Kellykins! When is your date? We are about 3 1/2 weeks out. I still LOVE it when people ask where we are getting married and we respond with Disneyworld!! Although since we are on the West Coast people automatically think we are talking about Disneyland. I TOTALLY agree about the at home wedding vs. Disney wedding. Disney is our real "home"

Evilina-I am glad I am not only one from the west coast whose is going w/ WDW. When I tell people that I am going all the way to Florida they just look at me w/ a blank look and tell me that there is a DL in California! Our Familys are all going to be coming from WA and OR. We almost eloped at the MonBelAmi chapel in Vegas about a year ago!

I think we spent about $16 thousand with Disney alone on our custom wedding 3 1/2 year ago in 2002. That included wedding pavilion ($5000) flowers, (3,500) reception at Living Seas (food min. of $100 per person X 42 people), 2 limos, Major Domo, Dove Release, Caricature Artist (which I HIGHLY recommend), Pianest, and DJ for the reception. I just couldn't see that beautiful piano in Living Seas go untouched...

That also included hair/cosmetics for myself and four bridesmaids, 2 Limos, a bus to escort guests to EPCOT for Illuminations Party and a sedan to drive us back to Wilderness Lodge. That also included a wedding portrait session at the Magic Kingdom the day after.

Outside of Disney we spent about $4,000 for our photographer (Jeff Hawkins) and wedding album (which is massive) we spent a lot there as my husband is a professional photographer and wanted the best we could get, and then we spent $800 for videography using Patrick Lyons. Very good also.

Overall including dress, hotel, day of, etc, I think it cost us a total of about $24,000. Compared with the average cost of other weddings at the time its right on target.

So as the saying goes... Dress $750, Venue $5000, memories...priceless
