How To Have Sound In DIS Chat - PC Only

Hiya!! In my look for color in chat, I figured out how to do sounds in chat! Right now, I can only give the procedure for PC users, but here we go:

1. You must have Ichat, this is a must!
2. Double Click on “My Computer”
3. Then the hard drive where you files are (it is likely to be “C”)
4. Now double click on “ichat”, then we have to create a new folder!
5. Right click inside the “ichat” folder, and choose “New” -> Folder:
Call this folder “Sounds” it must be that, or this won’t work, and we all want sounds in chat!
6. Now you have a sounds folder J



Here is the hard part (oh boy)

7. I found that http://members.aol.com/IServGOD/ index.html is a good site for waves. Waves are the files that you use in chat, and that is what you will have to get for chat to have sounds. After you get the waves you want from the MK, you can click Epcot to go to the others…
8. On the link for each file, right click, then go to “Save Target As…”
a. From their when it gives you the option of where to put it:
b. Choose the inverted arrow:
1. My Computer
2. C: (or wherever you put the ichat files)
3. ichat
4. Sounds


Now that you should go to chat!

9. Once you are logged into chat, go to the message bar:
a. Right click and choose “Insert Sound”
b. Their should be a drop down list of files that can be played in chat
c. Choose one and click ok
d. You should get some code in the message bar, and hear the file
e. If you click send anyone with that file in their sounds folder will hear it!
f. IF THE PERSON DOES NOT HAVE THAT FILE, THEY WILL NOT HEAR IT!

If you heard the song, repeat the process with different files!

Thanks Brad, I'll try to figure out how to do this. So everyone has to already have the sound to hear it?

Yes. When Glo and I figured this out last night, we both had to have the same wave files for it to work. If not, the people who do not have it won't get the sound at all. I have:

A Pirate's Life For Me
Grim Grinning Ghosts
The Please Stand Clear of the Doors
Zip It E Doo Dah (sp)
and several others

1) log in with Java.

2) on the tool bar click insert sound

3) in the top window a dropdown appears with about a dozen sounds.

4) pick one and click insert sound

5) everyone who has logged in with Java hears the sound

HEY--- I DID IT and I am technologically impaired! LOL.

Only problem was the part "index.html" on the link to the website with the Wavs wasn't underlined, but once I typed it in to the address - bingo!

Now have to go to chat and use it some time

That Epcot one from America "Golden Dreams" makes me tear up even just hearing a little clip like that !!!!
