Disney has been tricky, it really depends on the design. Not many have alternating colors, but there are some out there. I usually Google them or check http://www.magicbandcollectors.com. I haven't seen the front of the pre-arrival castle band, but I am guessing its the same. Pretty sure Jack Skellington has a black puck.
Black could work too. Since they did the top in Red wasn't sure if it'd be the red puck or something else.

I kinda assumed they used the plain colors but didn't know how that matched up with the designs. The Castle one, and some of the others, don't seem to match the plain colors so can't tell if they pick a complementary puck or make a special one to continue the color/design. Disney is really good at parting people and their money so it wouldn't surprise me either if they made the pucks special - but then you'd think they'd show that to you :p

OHHH the one you posted is actually red. I have seen it. LOL I thought you meant this one:

I tend to do solids and swap the pucks and bands. My free "upgraded" experience LOL

My stitch band is blue with a blue puck. I think they tend to match the color that's on not, not necessarily the base color of the band.

Quick question about cancelling a card- I got the Delta Gold card in January of this year. I'm planning to cancel it in December before the annual fee. Then I remember reading somewhere that you should keep cards for at least a year but I don't remember why? will they block me from getting other Amex cards if I keep less than a year?

Thanks all for the suggestions.

DH has work during the day so I’ll be on my own. I’m open to anything really. We are staying at Marriott grand chateau. DH will have a car I think but I’ll be walking till he’s off. Figure we will eat dinner someplace different each night. Not a big fan of buffet since I have food allergies.
I’ve spent a few days there while my husband works. My favorite thing to do is to go to gambling lessons at the different casinos. They are usually in the morning. I’ve been at Luxor, NY NY, Mandalay Bay. It’s really fun (although I still didn’t gamble for real. I hate losing money😂). I just asked at the desks in the casino.

And that would make sense, but stuff like this one, where the color wrap is in the same family but doesn't exactly have a matching plain color is what I started wondering about after that. Would they put a Blue one in that?

The Rafiki and Simba one has a dark green band, but Simba is kinda close to yellow so do they throw the Yellow one in there to complement the dark green or did they do the lime Green or make a special dark green color? I'm crazy and think about this stuff :) It'd be nice if they did a rollover that would show the top before you ordered.

And OMG I am so close to actually ordering the TNBC (which they called the "Jack Skellington" MB even though it's Jack and Sally) and Rafiki one and I don't even wear them! Disney just does a really nice design.

I'm thinking it may be the turquoise base that is the same price as free solid colors when purchased in a store, but not given as a free option to customize. Disney went a little crazy and released additional colors like white, black, millennial pink, hunter green, lavender, etc a little while back.

If I understand correctly (which is iffy), the drawback to booking through Delta vacations is that you get a voucher that needs to be used for flight(s) + hotel. Of course, with a $200 per ticket savings on the change fee, I do see how you could come out ahead even if you booked but didn't use a hotel room.

Also, when you called to have the price of the room adjusted, did you get that refunded back as points or a voucher?

I did not pay for the entire package up front since the trip is not until end of March. The total does not need to be paid until a month before. I am not sure of the required amount down (maybe 10%). I booked the flights which are 8 days apart but only did the room at Disney for 2 days since that was all that was required and we have DVC for the rest. So basically I still owe around $1000 and with the room change it brought the total finally due down...voucher or points was not at issue. If I did cancel completely I would expect a voucher for amount I have paid out up until this point.

Then I remember reading somewhere that you should keep cards for at least a year but I don't remember why? will they block me from getting other Amex cards if I keep less than a year?

Amex specifically may claw back your bonus (although I think thatsunlikely with a cobranded card) and then for future Amex cards they’ll give you a pop-up telling you you are not eligible for the bonus. Amex don’t play! I would keep it a year and after the fee hits you can call to downgrade or cancel for a full/partial refund (depending on which you choose).

Unless you are sure you are done with all Amex cards don’t cancel. Keep it a year before you close it out. You could also just product change it to the no annual fee Delta Blue. Either way though keep it until the AF posts; less than a year is going to definitely equal the dreaded pop up we talk about.

Ahhh, that's the missing piece :) All those colors would match up with the bands that didn't make sense! Now I get it. Thanks.

Thank you! I'm so glad I asked before cancelling! I will keep it a year and then call to see about changing to the no annual fee one. I got the Amex Gold and this Delta Gold this year and decided I don't need both and the regular Amex Gold is a lot more useful to me. But I want to stay in the game and not bite the hand that feeds me so I will try to stay in Amex's good graces!

DH SW Performance Biz just came in the mail. Just in time as we leave tomorrow for Orlando and then our four day cruise on Royal Caribbean. So I'll be testing out the multiple WiFi purchases in one day. My kids will think I'm the best. And I may have to try for at least one upgraded boarding since I forgot to check in right at 24 hours and ending up in C

Thank you to all who contribute here!!! We never would have taken this cruise without this hobby. Flights with SW RR and 2 CP, 167,000 UR for two interior rooms for a 4 night cruise. I still have 8 visits left from a 10 day non-expiring Disney ticket so we will probably go to a water park tomorrow or Sunday. Part of me wants to go to a park, but I only have 4 days left since we were just there in Feb and March I think we'll skip it this time. It's been raining a lot the past month here, so I am really looking forward to some sunshine!!
Mine came today too, Does your RR number show up on the back? Mine just says "RR"
Yay I got mine today too. Mine just has the RR also.

With Amex, you absolutely should not close a card you’ve held for less than a year. If you do close a card within a year, Amex could claw back your sign up bonus or worse. You agreed to this under the terms and conditions of the card member agreement when you applied:

If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome offer(s) that we did not intend for you; if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months after acquiring it; or if you cancel or return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount), we may not credit the welcome offer to, we may freeze the welcome offer credited to, or we may take away the welcome offer from your account. We may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us.

Although this is less likely to happen if your bonus was on a co-branded card like the Delta Gold, because it’s presumably more difficult for Amex to reach into their co-branded partner’s programs to claw back those points or miles, the cancelation is likely to count against your “history” with Amex for the purposes of getting more cards in the future.

Are you aware of the dreaded Amex pop up, which gives the following warning?

Based on your history with American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive this welcome offer.
We have not yet performed a credit check. Would you still like to proceed?

Closing a card before you've had it a year could trigger the pop up that’ll make you ineligible for the sign up bonus on a new card even if you’re approved.

More generally, if you opened this card (and any Amex card) for the sign up bonus, and spent only enough on it to meet the minimum spending requirement to get the bonus, then stopped or significantly dropped off your spend after you got the bonus, then you may find yourself getting the pop up on new card applications because Amex sees a pattern of you opening cards, spending only enough to get the bonus, then closing the cards after just a year. It's possible to get rid of the pop up, but it's probably easily to try to avoid the pop up in the first place.

As far as the annual fee goes, there's no harm in waiting until the annual fee actually posts to your statement to close a card because Amex gives you 30 days from the closing date of the statement on which the fee is billed to cancel the card for a full refund. Just pay any remaining charge on the last statement minus the annual fee, and canceling the card will get that annual fee charge credited back to zero out your statement.

However, cancelation even after the annual fee has posted could trigger a pop up that'll make you ineligible for future card signup bonuses depending on your overall history with Amex.

Did you get this offer (screenshot I took in April 2019)? Looks like with this offer you have 12 months. I bought a $250 AA gift card through
I have one friend I don't tell about my trips but that's because she's invited herself along before and I don't want her trying again. I don't enjoy traveling with her as an adult any more than I did at 18 for our grad trip. And what started out as just the bff and me ends up as me as odd man out cause it's just easier to be the one sitting alone on the ride or whatever. They only do stuff when I'm involved too, they are friends but not that close. Bff and I both know this so not sure if the other does.

I knew some of this. I took a screenshot so I can study it in line in a couple weeks 😁

Had the same thing happen to me that a friend tried to invite herself on my next trip. Now I'm a bit worried about posting pics on FB.

hahaha.....IHG is offering me another 10K to upgrade. Are they serious? The annual fee would go from $49 to $89 and for only 10K points!!!

Got this same offer. Didn't seem worth it to me either.

Ok trying to find out what we should do in Vegas next week. It will be just DH and I no kids this trip. I’ve never been and I don’t think DH has either.

-what’s your favorite restaurant/s
-what’s your favorite show/s
-anything else that’s a must do

We've been to Vegas a couple times and going back next Spring. Enjoyed the Bacchanal Buffet as well as Wicked Spoon Buffet. Also had a great time at the Michael Jackson Cirque show. We stayed at NYNY and loved our suite with the hot tub in it. And we also enjoyed a nice ride to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy your trip.

50th consecutive South Fayette game attended in the books tonight! Really proving that my username checks out there!! (That streak spans back to Oct 2015!)

Dipped into the high 30s tonight by the end of the game, first cold game of the year! 61-6 final score and we roll on! Busy weekend on tap so happy churning everybody! I'll check in as time allows!
