I agree with this, Ray. I’m a lawyer (not in the US and not personal injury) and you need someone handling all of this for you. You will be perceived as vulnerable and the insurance companies will try to take advantage of you. I’m far from a fan of the generally litigious culture we have these days, so I’m saying this because I believe you need it.

He has been a member of the dashboard since late October of 2000 so about 6,870 days and has 5,669 ( he has been a member long then the number of post he has posted I know I have seen more than one post from him in a day So there have been days more than likely weeks where he has not posted ( you can go back and look at the date he posted but I am not going too)

Absolutely. I misunderstood - I thought you were concerned that he hadn’t returned to the thread (as I was) so I was just pointing you in the direction of his reply in case you hadn’t seen it.

Ray was last online here Saturday morning. It’s been almost a week since we’ve heard from him. I do hope all is ok and he’s just resting. Such an incident can really knock a lot out of you, much more than one realizes at the time.

first, get a medical checkout.
second, did the driver have insurance? If she did, you may need to submit a claim to her insurance company for your related medical expenses or damage to your medical equipment.
If she had no insurance, that's a different issue.
An attorney could help with these questions.

Hello, this is Ray. I want to thank you for all of your caring words and caring thoughts and caring prayers. I just haven't felt like being online at all for several reasons.

I think that I am feeling a lot better for the last two days.

I will eventually have to look for a new physician. I have been looking at Medicare and the Anthem websites with no luck so far.

I feel very lucky.

I plan on traveling next week and driving for the first time to Daytona Beach, Florida in many years.

Maybe after a few days listening to the ocean, my spirits might improve and maybe I might go back online.

I just checked again here before trying to contact you another way. So, very glad to hear you are OK.
I agree with the others who suggest still getting in to see a doctor next week. If any symptoms show up over the weekend, don’t wait.

@RaySharpton I was getting ready to call you myself - I had no idea how, but I was going to track you down one way or another!

I know the frustration of trying to find a good doctor - for years, we had a doctor who had known our family *forever*, and I could call day or night. She didn't retire, but was snatched up by a recruiter of an out-of-state medical college, where she is teaching a new generation of doctors. My only solace is that hopefully she is creating the kind of doctor she has always been.

Please keep us posted, my friend! So many of us care about you - it has been too quiet here without you!

Ray, my heart jumped with relief when I saw you posted. I can't imagine being dragged like you were and "only" have a few sore spots. Please do as others said and get checked out.

Ray, hope you are feeling better now that some time has passed and your body has figured out how it is actually injured (or not!). Hopefully it is for the positive and the aches are getting better ! Hope you managed to find a doctor to get checked out, and that your wheels checked out ok too.

Ray, how are you doing? I always find it takes a day or two to really feel those aches to show up after an injury. Check in when you can please.

Ray, I sent you a message/conversation with my experiences finding a specialist in the Atlanta area. Glad to hear you're doing better. Bottom line-I went to 3 different "systems" -Emory, Pinnacle, and the Atlanta Brain and Spine Center. I ultimately chose the Atlanta Brain and Spine Center.

Just a word of warning--if their insurance company calls you THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND. Be very careful about what you say to them because they will take any little thing and twist it to try to come up with a reason why their insured was not at fault. I would tell them you are disabled (obviously) and you need to see any questions in writing before answering.

End of the year you should research insurance alternatives. Different medicare advantage plans have different panels of participating providers. In some areas many doctors participate with Medicare but not with any of the advantage plans. Good doctors on the panel is more important than a free pair of glasses. Zeni sells glasses for under $10 a pair. Advertisements for Medicare Advantage plans talk about free premium (just pay for Medicare B) and extras like hearing aids, vision, dental and even transportation. I don't recall a single ad which talks about quality or quantity of participating providers.
