Photographer. Author would be a second choice, or perhaps a historian. Or maybe a historian who writes books about history.

Technical writer. Right now I've got the writing chops to do it and the technical knowledge, but as a job it doesn't pay anywhere near what I make as an engineer. A lot of the stuff I come across is poorly written, especially if it's written overseas.

I've seen technical writing like specs and user guides from Japanese or Korean companies, and they're universally well written because they've had a native English speaker go through them. But from mainland China?
