IIIEEEEEEEE.......What a Trip!

No. But I do have a pair of white slip on sneakers that are crappy. I could slip them on, ride water ride and then stick them in a bag. They are very light weight

oh wow FJ sounds amazing. Can't wait to try that

It's awesome!!

Seuss Land looks so cute. Can't wait to check that out. That cotton candy looks amazing. Definitely want to try and get some of that

Your Thing 1 and Thing 2 are cute :)

Well you will see cotton candy in other places (like pre-bagged or in a small tub and they charge $5.95 and up) and you will just laugh at the size difference!!

LOVE Seuss landing. That is another area that is themed so well. And we have gone at Xmas twice and they really go all out on the decorations. It looks amazing. My fave rides are the trolley and cat in the hat. I agree about the pics. My new phone takes really large pixel photos and instead of cropping them down when I send them to be printed they invariably cut tops of heads off and yet leave a bunch of nothing at the bottom. I can almost see it at a place like this as it is probably a computer but when you send them to a photo developing place you would think they could fix that but I think sadly everything is computer nowadays. I have tried to crop them online before I send them but it is confusing and never seems to work. Such a bummer when you are hoping for cute pics. The fudge and cotton candy looked amazing!

Ooh, I'd love to see it at Christmas time!! I wish they would let you do like Disney does with the memory maker, go in and edit or add a border, do a b&w one, etc. I'm sure I could call them and ask them to fix them......but getting a hold of them to give us the lost pictures (we knew details about) was a process, so I'm sure this would be too (and I couldn't even begin to figure out what time of day those were done).

Seussland is a favorite for my sister and I. How cute with the Thing 1 and Thing 2, I'm actually a twin myself. Sara and the Cotton Candy :rotfl2: cracks me up. The photos are cute but the way you can't edit them, not so much. :furious: We actually had a bad experience with the photo people on my last cruise if that makes you feel better. Their Facial Recognition policy resulted in all 6 staterooms we traveled with's pictures located in one stateroom account. Guess who was not allowed to buy them? If you guessed my family, you are correct :furious: Their policy is the only time you can buy photos from another stateroom is if someone from your stateroom is in the photo or if the other cabin (occupants) are your unmarried children. It was that bad that my dad had to drag my mom out screaming at them :scared1:

Next time, I'll have suggest the cotton candy place, since I didn't go the first two times. The butterbeer would make my sister very happy, I'll have to let her see it

I guess I didn't realize you were a twin too!!!

That cotton candy was seriously huge......lol

Oh no, that's awful about the cruise pictures......I'd be bummed if we didn't get our pictures.

........yummmmmmm.........butterbeer

After having fun in Seuss Landing, we decided to do a little shopping on our way out and in CityWalk before heading back to the resort.

We grabbed our backpack out of the lockers in the front of the park and headed towards Hard Rock Cafe.

**You can get in and out of the lockers at the front of the park but the lockers for certain rides you can't do that. (even if you paid for a longer time)**

The iconic Universal Globe:

As we made our way through CityWalk~~

So just a note on VooDoo Doughnuts. This is a Portland Oregon based business that has stretched out to a Eugene Oregon store and now in Universal CityWalks (Hollywood too I believe). This opened not to long before our trip. A lot of hype for fun doughnuts but really nothing more special about these as any other good made doughnut.

We went back to Cabana Bay Resort to get cleaned up for our dinner at California Grill!!

Sara's selfie as she waited for the rest of us to be ready.

We got ready to go and relaxed before heading out. These pictures Mike got from the parking lot as we parked and made our way into the Contemporary Resort.

Inside the lobby of the Contemporary Resort.

We checked in around 7pm for our 7:20 reservation. We are sent upstairs on a dedicated elevator where you wait for your party to be texted. You stand in an area with a huge wall of wines. We aren't wine drinkers but still found it quite impressive. Here's our group waiting to be seated!

I forgot to look at the time when we finally were seated, but it seemed like we stood in that wine wall area for quite a while.........but it was worth the wait.....we got a table by the window close to the Magic Kingdom end. The perfect spot to watch the fireworks right from our table!!

I'm totally disappointed.....somehow in the excitement of our table and being here......we didn't get any pictures inside the menu!!! Usually both Mike and I get them.

Here we all are..........

Pictures from our table of our view as we ordered our drinks from our super nice waiter, Walter.

Walter brought a basket of bread with a bowl of olive oil and sun-dried tomato (as well as other spices). It was yummy!!

Our cocktails: 2 of us ordered the Blackberry Lemonade, a Mai Tai and a Spicy Margarita

We ordered 2 appetizers to share. I've never had sushi, so we ordered a good beginner sushi~~the California Combination Roll (Jumbo Lump Crab, Avocado, Cucumber & Shrimp Tempura). I liked it!!! The second appetizer was on of their wood fired flatbreads~~Poached Pear (Red Wine poached Asian Pear, Olli Prosciutto, Red Onion Jam, Fontina, Asiago, Parmesan, Meyer Lemon, Arugula, fresh Cracked Pepper). It was ok, but the wine flavor comes out and it's not a flavor I like. But something new for all of us to try.

We did look at the wine list........check out that price!!! ($6875)

A few more pictures as the sky was changing colors~~

The Colorado Bison Loin (Truffle-Herb Potato Gnocchi, Roasted Chipollini Onions, Celery Root Puree, Salsa Verde)

Oak-Fired Filet of Beef (Truffled Boniato Potato Mash, Zuckerman's Asparagus, Miso Vinaigrette, Tamarind Barbecue Sauce) This was Sara's entree but she has an allergy to honey and the sauces had it in it, so they first brought out a dry steak, no sauces but after talking to Walter, he was able to get her a sauce (Zinfandel Sauce I believe)

Grilled Pork Tenderloin (Goat Cheese Polenta, Button Mushrooms, Lacquered Belly, Zinfandel Sauce) Somehow, we only got the one photo.....glad it came out!

Lobster & Pork Ramen (Miso Broth, Ajitsuke Egg, Pickled Shiitakes, Bamboo Shoots, Sesame, Scallions)

I don't think there were any complaints at the table. It was all really good. I had the Ramen.....not the easiest to eat, but the broth was so full of flavor that I made it work!!

CUTE! Thank you.....I think they make cute Things.....lol

My goodness, that view :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: We were thrilled by our table and we didn't even request a window table......just VERY lucky!!

I'll take all three, thanks  The Blackberry Lemonade is dangerous as it does NOT taste of alcohol.....you could easily drink 2-3 of these and then out of nowhere......BOOM!!!

It looks (and sounds) fabulous! Too bad the flavor was only so-so o_O
It was good but it's not a flavor profile I personally enjoy.

We sat and watched the sun set from our table as we enjoyed our dinner.

As we continued to eat, the Electrical Water Pageant was going on down below us on Bay Lake.

Once Upon a Time Castle Projection Show right before the fireworks.

Time for the fireworks!! Mike decided the glare off the windows was too much, so he went out on to the patio to get these amazing photos!!

Mike came back in to finish his dinner and we ordered 1 dessert as we all were pretty full.....but you can't do a fancy dinner with out ending the evening on a sweet note. Mike noticed the Electrical Water Parade coming back around so he went back out on the patio to get these pictures.

We chose the Blackberry Lime Sorbet (Lemon Manjari Soil, Pear Poppy-seed Glass)

It was the perfect way to end our meal and evening.

One last look at the other end of the dining room before we walked out of the restaurant.

**4 Cocktails, 1 Sushi, 1 Flatbread, 4 Entrees, 1 Dessert = $292 + tax + tip**

A few more from the lobby as we made our way out of the Contemporary.

Back at the Cabana Bay Resort.

What an AMAZING first day!!!

Nice update. We LOVE the CA grill. Such good food. We did this same fireworks viewing back in 05 and loved it. We then did the Narcoosees one with the free dinning in 10. Also great views and food.

Thank You! It was a very good dinner....not something I would do with the girls, but as a couples dinner.....I would definitely go back.

The dinner looked pretty good

Mike got some great shots out the fireworks from outside.
You got the best table!

We really couldn't have asked for a better table!!

Caught up on your TR! Looks like so much fun! I personally love Universal and Forbidden Journey is my all time favorite ride.

I'm on a super strict diet right now, and your pictures are killing me! :p
