As for the tail of the dragon @Teamubr, I want in on you and @tiggerdad little bet... there's a new outlaw in town...
OK, this is starting to get interesting. I will need specs from all of you so that I can set a level betting line.

Okay, sorry on the delay. I think I picked up the flu this week along with work being busy and a lot of running around here with kids' school functions.

I've sent emails or called several of the previously listed campgrounds to get some information and find out if they have anything different for groups vs. us reserving individually. I'll give you the responses as I get them back. I tried to include all those you guys have given input on.

I will also list them here, with the link to their website so you can review them in the meantime. If you find something on them that you are not a fan of, or can't use them then please let us know. I'd like to find one that we all would be in agreement on. I'm not partial to any of them, and from I've seen would be willing to stay at all of them but some of us have different needs involved. Some need bath houses others need plenty of room, while some of us may need the use of the trolley system to be able to get around.

Those that I contacted include:

KOA Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg
https://koa.com/campgrounds/pigeon-forge/
Pine Mountain RV Park
https://pinemountainrvpark.com/
Riverbend Campground
http://www.riverbendcampground.com/
Rivers Landing Campground
https://campriverslanding.com/
Clabough's Campground
https://claboughcampground.com/
Creekside RV Park
https://creeksidervpark.com/
River Plantation RV Park
https://www.riverplantationrv.com/
Give them a look over in the meantime, and look into some others as well if you like and give some input on them. Please try to include the web address to make it a little easier for us to look at them.

@SouthAlabama5er We stayed at Up the Creek in Oct. It was very nice and i would absolutely stay there again but it has no amenities. People who want a pool or need a bath house will have an issue.

I've got to get better about checking the boards lol Since COVID has me on no work travel I've had more time to look lol

Count us in for whatever y'all want to do. I've been so busy later we have barely even used the camper (of course now you can't even find camping toilet paper to buy lol.)

Pigeon Forge wise, we've camped there the last 2 Thanksgivings. First year we did Riveredge RV Park and last year we did Camp Riverslanding (both are side by side and on the river near the Gatlinburg side of Pigeon Forge.) While neither are as secluded, they are definitely convenient. The Pigeon Forge trolley also services both of them so you can park and not have to drive. Riverslanding is a little smaller but had a larger number of river front spots.

ED:
What are the dates for October-2020 FW-Dis-Meet?
I would like to drop by at least for a day, maybe two.
Rusty

10/4 through 10/18 currently Scupper. Looking at a dinner meet on 10/12.

The girls, if they come on that trip, will be disappointed if you don't drop by.

Chris, while there are very few things I can proudly report, I do have the distinction on the Dis camping forum to be the only Diser to of hosted a meeting between @bama_ed and @TheRustyScupper . (I think) It was my March trip in 2018 in the 1402 site. It was a really entertaining meeting. They sat across from one another. It was a 2 hour event to be remembered.

I'm sure it is logged somewhere in the National Archives.

Yeah we took that first week Oct 4-11 (Sun-Sun) because we could and a number of folks could come in for that early week. But the main get-together week is Oct 11-18 (Sun-Sun) with the one group event for dinner on Monday Oct 12.

So that afternoon-evening Monday Oct 12 is the time to put on your calendar, Rusty.

And for the record, I hosted the Scupper sometime in 2013 IIRC as he said at my old canvas popup. He appeared like a wisp of smoke behind my back out of nowhere, was witty, charming, polite, told funny stories, and was a good listener. And then, just like that, he was gone. :confused3

Then he had his horrible accident but after his rehab he came to a DISMeet lunch with garneska and 2goofycampers (who hosted) and maybe others?. Then the meet with tiggerdad's family and Rusty (who brought Mrs. Scupper who was the star of the afternoon) and he was back to hiz ol' spunky self.

I don't want to give him the big head but if you get a chance to chat with him at the get-together, do so.

Bama Ed

PS - now please excuse me while I go wash all this blarney off

1) Deterime a date (or two) for big get-togethers.
2) I will find a way to attend.
3) With my "Silver Pass", entry is not a problem.

October 12 is the big get-together.

The rest is just like herding cats. For those of us at the Fort, we're there for the parks too (lol). And some dining ADR's (me).

But that last Saturday (10/17), before I leave, I am gonna watch me some college football outside (weather permitting) nearly all day long. And when those top-tiered SEC team games go to a commercial break, we can flip over to other channels and catch a B1G game for a few minutes. 😴

We'd love to have you back with us for Saturday the 17th, Rusty. That is if Mrs. Scupper will let you play with us for TWO days in the same week.

Bama Ed

Okay, Dismeet 2020 is in the books and time to get on thoughts on a 2021 Dismeet in or around Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Looks like Pine Mountain resort is topping a lot of lists. Ill make some new phone calls to them and inquire about groups and accessibility.
