It's MARVEL-ous on the MAGIC! Oct 2017 Canada Coast Cruise COMPLETE! See Ya Real Soon!

I love this cruise too lol
I mean where else can you go for a walk and run into Marvel characters :cool1:
Your dinner at Palo looks wonderful

Belle looks like Rey!

She does!! She'd be good for the SWDAS cruises cos then she can play a princess and a Jedi!

Sounds like a fabulous sea day/last day (minus the rocking and rolling of the waves!) And ending fabulously with a Palo dinner!

Yup the rocking was a little...:crazy2: but it bothered me less than if it were at the beginning of the cruise. So I was actually ok with it, although after getting off on land...hahaha I felt I was still on the boat for 3 days.

Basically! How I understood it as a kid was that it was corn bread...but on the sweeter side? Not like a more savoury corn bead like some people prefer.

Oh yum, I would like me some Johnny Cake! Sounds so yummy!

I sooo relate to this! This is always me by the end of a trip. Like, so reliably to the point that I don't know why I don't just pack enough make-up wipes to last the first half of the trip instead of for every day. I'm so exhausted and ready to relax by the end that the whole beautification routine is just NOT happening, even when I have fun Disney-bounding ideas. But you still looked lovely! Fresh-faced and relaxed :)

I know! I have all thee plans and ideas and then...well it never turns out just quite like I envision it sometimes, but my secret is a big pair of sunglasses and lipstick and you will look chic no matter what, even though I have bags and tired eyes. :cool2: Hahaha.

But you always look great though!!

Nice! This is a great picture of you guys, and Tiana looks really great, too!

Thank you! I tried, hahaha. Wish I could have worn sunglasses though.

Bahaha! I laughed at this because, with their super enthused expressions in all the photos it's hard to tell whether they particularly like or dislike anything at all! Especially Steve's dad! Glad to hear they were having fun though! :goodvibes

Yes, they are not the most expressive bunch. Hahaha, but the fact that they were there and taking pictures was really enough to show that they liked doing stuff like that too.

Aww it looks like this ice cream cone was feeling sad that the cruise was almost over, too.

Yes sad people create sad ice cream cones. :sad1:

Oh my gosh. Dessert heaven! :cloud9:

It was a great meal and dessert was sooo good!

Everything looked amazing! Your trip report def makes me want to do a cruise. One day!

I'm glad to have inspired you! It's such a fun and relaxing way to experience Disney.

Your last day sounds so relaxing, all about what I love on sea days. I can't wait for my meal at Palo! Only 80 something days left!

aaah I'm so jealous! I have more than a year!
I love sea days - I would not mind at all if a cruise went to nowhere and I just got to spend every day on this magical ship.

Jealous of the awesome spa time! Looks like a good last day and the food, yum!

It was a great lazy food-filled day! That is MY kinda day! LOL

I love this cruise too lol
I mean where else can you go for a walk and run into Marvel characters :cool1:
Your dinner at Palo looks wonderful

I know!! It's even better than being in the parks. I might have to rethink those annual passes and just go on another cruise instead, LOL.
Palo was fantastic! I can't wait to eat there gain. Sadly I have to wait more than a year...:(

I love sea days - I would not mind at all if a cruise went to nowhere and I just got to spend every day on this magical ship.

I totally agree, and even took a two day cruise to nowhere and it was actually Disney's last. They were banned after that because of gambling ships in FL abusing the cruise to nowhere thing. Now ships based outside the US must dock somewhere outside the US to allow them to cruise out of US ports

OK Time to wrap up this trip report!! Can't believe we're at the end already but that is good as I've just started yet another trip report for my SOLO trip to WDW in June, LOL.

Day 7 At Sea - Last Day of the Cruise: Part 2

After a fantastic dinner at Palo, everyone decided to head back while I continued my night alone. We had already set out our luggage before Palo so that was hauled away that evening. I went down tot he Atrium where they were just starting the final show of the cruise. They basically introduce the characters again and sing the "Now's the time to say good-bye..." song. Goodbye Mickey! But not for long!

Daisy was being so cute! She had a multitude of poses and was such a ham. LOL

The best part of the evening is when you get to take pictures with all the characters for a quick 20 minutes.

This is probably one of my favorite times on the cruise because you can get so many character pictures in a short amount of time! It's like characterpalooza!

It's hard to tell but the pattern on my dress has a Marvel theme. It was one of the other options I had for formal night, but I ended up not wearing it.

I also managed to get a few with the lovely princesses, this time I was more presentable looking, haha.

We had handed out our tip envelopes to almost everyone including our stateroom host and thanked them for their wonderful service. I had asked for extra lotion at the beginning of our cruise and our host was nice enough to give me some to take home. Thankfully we also got the hour in our day back!

Late that night, I walked around the ship myself, just to soak in the last moments. The ship was empty, and it's probably one of my favorite times to roam around.

So did you know the stars on the carpet in the stateroom hallways, the direction it's pointing in is always forward. This is how I know where I am on the ship because for the first 2 days I'm usually lost. Haha.

Good night Disney Magic! You were a fabulous cruise!

Day 8 Debarkation Morning - Back in NYC

The next day when we woke up we were already docked in NYC. Luckily Disney allows you to have some breakfast before you leave and they don't just give you the boot right away, LOL.

Sadly it was now time to leave the ship. :(

We exited, collected our luggage, went through customs (from what I remember it was very easy and fast) and soon we were back inside the cruise terminal. We made our way out and caught an Uber to take us back to our house. Amaazingly we found an Uber that had enough room for 5 of us and our luggage (it was a minivan). Steve's parents had a flight later that afternoon and Steve sent them to the airport. I was busy doing laundry and re-packing because...

...we were going to Walt Disney World in 2 days!! :dogdance:

We would be celebrating our
9th wedding anniversary down there, attend our first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and run the Food & Wine Fall Feast 5k. Oh and we would be eating even more. Feel free to join me on that Trip Report here . I haven't started the post-cruise portion yet, I'm still working on a few days in September but it'll be part of the same trip report.

Thank you all for following along on this very special Marvel Day at Sea cruise! We had an amazing time, and I would not hesitate to do this cruise again!

Seriously, going to Disney is the only way to cure the post-cruise blues :rotfl:

SEE YA REAL SOON DISNEY WORLD!

Wonderful trip report! And I love your dress - it looks so formal and I had no idea that it was Marvel themed, too! :rotfl:

I'll check out your post cruise trip report - sad this one has to end. Thanks for sharing!

This is probably one of my favorite times on the cruise because you can get so many character pictures in a short amount of time! It's like characterpalooza!

I was just thinking that! That's really neat.

It's hard to tell but the pattern on my dress has a Marvel theme. It was one of the other options I had for formal night, but I ended up not wearing it.

I was just about to say how much I loved your dress, and I hadn't even noticed what the print was...that makes it even better!!

I was busy doing laundry and re-packing because...

...we were going to Walt Disney World in 2 days!! :dogdance:

That's wild! Such a short turn-around!

What a neat cruise! I'm glad you all had such a great time, and proud that you got to see a little bit of beautiful eastern Canada. I hope you can come back again someday! Maybe in the summer next time! Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. :goodvibes

It was going to be a quiet sea day, although for the first time we were on really rough waters, and you could totally feel the ship rocking. I guess we have been lucky on our other two cruises as we did not feel anything quite as bad as it was today. I was ok with it all and it didn't really deter my enjoyment too much considering it was our last day

I think it's because they speed up on that last day/night. I've been on three cruises, the Magic from NYC-Bahamas, the Dream 4-night Bahamas, and the Wonder 3-night Bahamas, and the last day/night is ALWAYS super rough. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Well, I don't know if you can tell from his stoic expression, but he LOVED it! :cheer2:

:rotfl: I would NOT have guessed that!

The Antipasti platter filled with all things good like Parmigiano Reggiano, olives, bresciola, prociutto, roasted peppers (which I don't really eat but others enjoyed it), and marinated artichokes, all drizzled with balsamic glaze and extra virgin olive oil. It was all complemented by a delicious bread service.

I think I must have missed this :confused3 How cool!

I'm coming back as you in my next life!!

Awesome cruise trip report!

I hate that last breakfast and the only way to make it better is to have some Disney time after the cruise. Unfortunately that won't be the case for me next time. Pretty much.

OMG I love that you turned around and went to WDW two days later!! That is amazing!! So glad it was such a fun time and that you were able to enjoy it with family. You have me thinking about a cruise JUST for Palo and the spa, LOL. Adore your Marvel dress - you could totally do a Disney style blog in addition to the food and travel!!

I completely forgot that you started this trip report. I thought I followed it, but I guess I didn't or didn't get the updates. Anyway, I binge read it with enjoyment!

As usual, your costumes and outfits are adorable. I love that black dress you wore on one of your formal nights.

I'm glad Steve's dad had a good time considering the health issues he's had. Did his mom and aunt have a good time. also?

Great report! Thanks for sharing all the fun. I think I saw Victoria on our cruiser last week. She really does look like Merida. :D

Thanks for reading!
Oh that's so cool you saw Victoria! That's why I totally thought her fave princess was Merida, LOL!

Is that Mickey waffle PINK????

Your cruise looked like so much fun! I'm not sure when we'll take our first Marvel or Star Wars cruise but I hope it's soon :D

Haha I think it's just the lighting but yes let's just say it's pink!! :)

I hope you get to try these cruises! They are so much fun and just makes cruising with Disney even better!

Wonderful trip report! And I love your dress - it looks so formal and I had no idea that it was Marvel themed, too! :rotfl:

Thank you! Yeah it's a very subtle print but thought it was appropriate!
Thanks for reading!! :)

Thank you for a wonderful report.

Thank you so much for reading! It was wonderful to relive these memories.

I was just thinking that! That's really neat.

It's so cool to see all the characters all at once!

I was just about to say how much I loved your dress, and I hadn't even noticed what the print was...that makes it even better!!

Thank you :)

It is the best feeling when you're walking off the ship to know that it isn't the end of your vacation. I dunno why, but leaving a Disney cruise is very sad, more sad than leaving Disney World. I think it's because I'm so tired by the time I leave a park that I'm essentially OK with going home but when you're so relaxed and surrounded by Disney Magic on a cruise you never want it to end.

Thanks for reading and thank you for all the tips on Canada. I definitely want to go back to Halifax and the surrounding area, it is all so beautiful and I want to eat more seafood!! I'll be sure to hit you up when we do return :)

I think it's because they speed up on that last day/night. I've been on three cruises, the Magic from NYC-Bahamas, the Dream 4-night Bahamas, and the Wonder 3-night Bahamas, and the last day/night is ALWAYS super rough. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Ah you are probably right! They are rushing back to get rid of us at the end of the trip since everyone has already spent all their money. :rotfl:

:rotfl:I would NOT have guessed that!

Haha, he's really expressive.

I think I must have missed this :confused3 How cool!

Yup it's at the last night of the cruise right after the goodbye show that happens late at night. It's like 30 minutes of character madness!

I'm coming back as you in my next life!!

Awesome cruise trip report!

Aw thanks, I just love Disney so much!
thank you for reading!!

Another fabulous cruise and trip reports comes to a close!!! :lovestruc

Thanks so much for reading!! Can't believe you guys will be GOLD soon! I will get there...in 2 cruises!

I hate that last breakfast and the only way to make it better is to have some Disney time after the cruise. Unfortunately that won't be the case for me next time. Pretty much.

Oh for sure! I am a big fan of Disney after cruising, or at least have a trip planned soon so that you have something to look forward to. I dunno, leaving the cruise ship is just so sad! Much worse than leaving a Disney park. At least you have Disneyland at your doorstep!!

Haha, that, to me, was the only way to do it. I knew I'd be sad after the cruise and considering it was a few days before our anniversary it only made sense to be in Disney World for it!
Thank you so much for reading! Haha I do love the Disney fashion and cruising is so fun because you get to dress up a little. :)

Another amazing report Su-Lynn! You totally have me ready for a Disney cruise, 'eh!

Thanks Kari! I hope you get to do one some day! You would LOVE it! All the food you can eat with no wait times or Fastpasses!

I had a really fun time with the Marvel theme on this ship. In fact I have one or two Marvel dresses that didn't get used...must plan another Marvel cruise for them, LOL.
Yup they all had a great time. Honestly they could have cared less if it was a Disney Cruise or not as long as we could spend time together but I think they have begun to realize how Disney entertainment beats the competition as they really enjoyed the shows and movies, and decided that character meets are the latest "fun" thing to do!
