Your costume was so great - I love it!

We also did the NY Superheros meet. I wasn't sure how my kids would do (especially the 2 year old), but they enjoyed meeting the characters even though they didn't know who they were. They were scared of Loki, though, and wouldn't get near him. My 4 year old also wouldn't get in our family photo with Dr. Strange. We didn't find out until a month later that he was afraid he was going to give him a shot.

As the mother of an 8 year old boy and a Kindergarten teacher, I should really be ashamed at my lack of superhero knowledge--though I DO know the difference between DC and Marvel, so that should win me a few points, right?!

Love your costumes and the fact that you were already able to meet SO many characters! My favorite picture of all is most definitely the one with your in-laws. You're right, they are simply adorable in their tshirts, whether they know who the characters are or not

Hi everyone! We just got back from a short trip to WDW this past weekend! It was awesome - we went to Star Wars Galactic nights and had a blast! The parks were fully decorated for the holidays and it got really crowded yesterday and the day before! Weather was beautiful though! Will hopefully post more about our Marvel Day at Sea tonight - there's still so much more of the day!

Haha thanks - I have plenty of ideas, but the execution is where I don't have the crafty-ness! Everything was bought and just put together. I wish I could sew. I should learn I suppose!

and that Loki...yeah better stay clear of him. But it was funny, the CM who played Loki looks nothing like that in real life. He was one of the CMs manning one of the character meet n greets one night, and he has sandy blond hair and thick harry potter-style glasses. No one would have guessed he was Loki, but since I have amazing Loki-radar I recognized him immediately.

I tried to get them to be part of all the big events on the ship. They had a good time even though I'm sure they have no idea what they were getting into. The characters roaming the halls were fantastic. It also pays to be up early before the larger crowds of people descended into the atrium. It was definitely less crowded than SWDAS though but there are many more people into Star Wars than Marvel.

Day 3 Part 2: The Tale of Two Lokis...

The morning of our Marvel Day at Sea was awesome! We already met a ton of characters, and had a great breakfast, but I still had to meet Loki. After we met with Thor we went to line up to meet Captain America because it would be a while before Loki would come back out. The lines were getting pretty long at this time but we just made the best of it considering we didn't have too many characters left to meet!

Cap was meeting over by Preludes which is right outside the Walt Disney Theater on Deck 4. They had a backdrop of a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo so you knew you were in the right place.

Waiting for Cap:

We were probably the 5th party in line. The line moved a little slowly but that's because the characters were talking and interacting with guests. I know some other guests were annoyed by this and they just wanted a picture and to move on, but when you're dressed up in costume I think it's a nice touch to be able to speak to the actors and have a sense of "role-playing" therefore I did not mind the longer waits at all and watching the interaction was fun. Kids were having a great time meeting their heros. I mean, when do I ever get to dress like Loki and pretend I'm a sneaky villain?!?

We were not disappointed by Captain America. He had the perfect old-fashioned, chivalrous, all-American heroic demeanor. I've always really liked Captain America. He's just such an idealistic hero which can be rare nowadays. Here I am explaining to Captain America that I've changed and I won't attack New York again. I also couldn't help but show my devious side.

I really wanted to touch his shield though. #naughtyloki

We walked around and headed down to deck 3 to see what action was happening there. Oh look we found a sorcerer!!

Finally we headed back upstairs to Deck 4 to wait for Loki as Thor would almost be finished with his rotation. We got back in line and after about 20 minutes Loki comes back out. We waited another 10 minutes or so until it was our turn.

In the meantime they were setting up for the Marvel Superhero Diaper Dash. I didn't get a chance to see it but it looks so cute.

Finally, I was reunited with my alter-ego. I was kinda shy and giggly it seemed.

I really enjoyed this Loki's character. He called my outfit "magnificent" and spent some time spinning me around. He said something about how "finally, someone worthy was in his presence"

Wish I could hold his scepter though. #naughtyloki

He did not think Steve was worthy enough and was questioning why he was there.

We also got a group picture. I am being funny and sneaky in the background, because that is what Loki does.

Really happy our Loki meet n greet was so much fun and they had the perfect actor play him, although he is no Tom Hiddleston, he did a really great job on the accent and the charisma of Loki. I think he had fun too considering I was one of the few people dressed as Loki on the ship. After meeting Loki we went back to Preludes because Black Widow was coming out at that point. She was our last official character meet of the day and it was great because we got to do everyone before lunch!

Black Widow was really spot on. She had a cool, calm, confidence about her, and was all business. The CM was really portraying her character well. She was pretty awesome.

At this point we were done with all the official Marvel Characters! The only one we did not meet was big Groot but he was appointment only and we opted for the NY Superheroes instead. I know of a few people in the cruise FB group that were able to get both meets but the Groot one was sold out very quickly. I think there were somehow less times for him. Anyways, it was time for lunch so we headed to Cabanas. Here's where I did a mini photoshoot outdoors which I showed in my previous post:

The weather was still pretty warm out but let me tell you it was not to be that way at night!!

Cabanas was just about getting crowded but we were able to find a seat. Also, it's tough to eat with a cape and helmet! The ties got in the way so I had to take off the cape, which is too bad as I can't each my lunch as a crafty villain.

Here's my tape repair job on my helmet: not the prettiest but it did the trick!

Cabanas had a special regional menu each day, today was North African. They changed all the signs to have a superhero call-out theme.

The only themed food I could see in Cabanas was the desserts which had some Marvel designs as garnishes.

Steve loaded up his plate with lots of crab and shrimp, while I got a myriad of items. We always thought the food in Cabanas was quite tasty.

I was obviously into the carbs for lunch!

Had to try the Iron Man chocolate cake for dessert. I think it was good from my recollection!

Next to it is some bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Disney does bread puddings extremely well so I had to partake in some when I see it being offered at any buffet.

We were so happy we got the bulk of all the character meets done before lunch and we could kinda take it easy for the rest of the day. We were seriously impressed with all the actors and CMs playing the Marvel heroes (and villain) - Disney did a great job in casting!

Coming up...a Marvel Costume Celebration, Marvel Day at Sea-themed Dinner, and fireworks! The day had only just begun!!

It was amazing how many characters they had just roaming around so early. It was great! I can't believe we got to meet them all. It felt so cool. I got to geek out at the best comic con of all time, haha.
Disney is great with all the details on Marvel Day at Sea. They had Marvel music soundtracks playing throughout the ship and the CMs had nametags with a super hero theme. There's more themed food too! I'll show that in my upcoming posts!

Love the Palo Brunch food porn, I really want to go on a DCL cruise and Palo is a huge reason why.

Thank you! We had a great time, even the in-laws had a lot of fun. They have been on several cruises before but I honestly think that they were just bored. Disney cruises provided a lot of new stuff to entertain them!

Yeah it was so cool we could get everyone's picture before lunch! I think it's also cos we were out early and not too many people were aroujd so when we ran into Dr. Strange, Starlord and Gamora, and Hawkeye, there was no crowd around them yet and we could talk and take pictures. It was so fun!
