The renovated rooms look really nice. I haven’t stayed at the resort since 2002. So, I can’t wait to see the changes. My children have requested to stay here, so,we are doing a split stay at POR (3 nights) and AKL (3 nights) with only 4 day tix. I reserved Boma for dinner on our resort day. Would it be worth it to go to Boma for breakfast too?

I love breakfast at Boma. But I wouldn’t go on the same day as your dinner there. Might be overkill, not to mention the expense. But if you’re up for it, you should try and go for breakfast one morning. It’s fantastic.

Thanks. I am impacted in that I can see workers if I’m on my balcony between 9-4 and I can hear some construction sounds here and there and my hallway is sectioned off, so we take stairs near our room down to 3d floor to walk out that way. But it doesn’t bother me. I can see it bothering some people. But the resort otherwise is pristine and the cast is very friendly, pool is unaffected, restaurants unaffected, buses have been great. My savanna view is stupendous, except for directly to my right.

Hello everyone! I love all of the updated pictures—- thanks for posting. My family is staying at AKL for 3 nights in August (8/12) in a savannah room. I’m nervous about construction going on and not having a great view. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can keep track of the refurb?

The Value Villas are located only on Ostrich & Giraffe Trails on the 5th floor. There are so few that Disney does not accept room requests for these.

You have the chance for a Sunset Savannah view, Pool view, or parking lot view - although in the many times I have stayed in Value villas I have never had a parking lot view!

We have a three bedroom Grand Villa through DVC booked at the end of July. Should I be concerned about construction? Any special requests I should make? I don’t think there’s a lot of flexibility on those three bedroom villas.

I love both breakfast and dinner, I try and do both if I'm staying on property. I ALWAYS do at least one dinner at Boma.

The touring plans room locator works even if you do not have a subscription. Visit https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-animal-kingdom-villas and select “Standard view/studio” and click “show matching rooms”. Once you click what I will call a half of the building (north and south of the lobby on touring plans show up basically as separate buildings) you can use the drop down menu on the right to look at all of the floors with matching studios.

I would definitely make “close to lobby” my only request if that’s important to you as it has been reported as a very common request.

We are doing a split stay and will be there for our 2nd half of our split stay on 12/26-12/30, club level.

We were there first of May and stayed Zebra trail...no renos there at that time. They were still working on Kudu.

Thanks! We will be there in a little over two weeks so I’m curious where they’re at right now.

I would love one of the refreshed rooms but requested to be on Zebra due to proximity to the pool and other amenities, so I’m guessing I can’t get both of those things unless they’ve made a lot of progress.

We requested 3rd floor close to lobby. We were in room 3018 on giraffe trail. We loved the location. There was an elevator just across that the hall that came out by the pool and the path to the restaurants. It was a very short walk to the lobby and the view was beautiful. We had 2 queen beds.
