Realize that online check in these days will only have a couple of boxes with very few very generic requests like near lobby or near transportation. There is no place to type in more specific requests such as 3rd floor, Kudu trail, etc.. Plus lately people report online check in often isn’t even working (for any resort, not just AKL.)
To make requests I’ve always called WDW and had them noted on my reservation, but, depending on the cost for you to make an international call, you might consider paying for the room request thing through the private company - not sure of the name - Touring plans, maybe, - they email your request to your resort.

I am bringing my 7 year old son to AKl for a 1 night club level pool day staycation before moving to pop century for the rest of the trip in early March! Always wanted to stay there!

We’re checking into a Jambo studio rented with DVC points. Does anyone know if lotion is offered? I thought I had read somewhere that one of the resorts no longer offered lotion bottles.

https://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/aklmap.htm I suspect some of the rooms in the first pods of Kudu and Ostrich trails facing Sunset savanna as well as the rooms above the check in desk fronting the lobby may be standard view since they face a smallish section of Sunset savanna, I’ve had a standard view villa in that area of Kudu trail. I’d hesitate to request Ostrich trail, though, since half of those rooms overlook the front which I personally wouldn’t want.

We’re checking into a Jambo studio rented with DVC points. Does anyone know if lotion is offered? I thought I had read somewhere that one of the resorts no longer offered lotion bottles.

We were there 2 weeks ago and we had lotion in our non-DVC room. I put the lotion in my bag and it was replaced the next day.

We were in room 5202. DVC one bedroom. If I walked out my front door I was looking down onto the lobby. The balcony I believe looked over the Sunset Savannah!

Starting to get REALLY excited for our January trip...have a question...when we went last time, we had planned on walking over to Kidani at some point but never made it there. This trip our flight arrives much earlier in the day so we'll have almost an entire resort day to start our vacation. Is it worth it to walk over to Kidani? And, if the weather is nice, are we allowed to use both pools? THANKS!

Yes we walked over there 3 times!!! My kids like that pool better, they also have a splash park there. The food at Sanaa was the best meal we had, I highly recommend eating there! We will be staying at Kidani next time

We are choosing between coming in January or the beginning of March. I am concerned that there will be fewer animals wanting to be out on the savannas in January. Anyone have experience or an opinion either way?

I cannot speak to a March visit, however on my first stay at AKL we arrived January 1st. There were plenty of animals roaming the Savannah, and we were told that the CM's place treats strategically to entice them to stroll about. I imagine that no matter when you visit you could experience relatively few animals, but I htink that like most things in life, it's all about timing and being there when they are wandering in your view.

We had lotion in our DVC studio in October, and they did leave more when they came on the fourth day to clean the room.
