July 3/4 2020 MK Fireworks Dessert Parties - Watch Thread - UPDATE: NOW OPEN!!!

Pulling hair out now...They're undergoing "magical" enhancements and cannot book by phone or online. She doesn't think it's sold out, but I can't book it and they don't know when it will be back up. Refresh, refresh, refresh....

Annoying. But at least there's hope!

It could be worse! lol I wonder if there's a chance when the system is back up, if all my attempts will go through. :crazy2: They just now posted an alert on the website. That would've been nice to see an hour ago. It also explains the 90 minute wait on the phone.

Omg! I cannot thank this group enough. I got tickets for July 3 this morning.

Question: I got panicky and used the wrong card to make the pre-paid reservation. Can I call and will they hold the res and let me switch it to another credit card?

You would definitely have to call to see if they can do that. It's already been charged to your card and I think they'd have to cancel your current one and rebook. I know they can hold a resort reservation while cancelling another one, not sure if they can do it with dining or not. I definitely would not try and cancel and rebook myself. I can tell you the wait time is long right now. The recording said 90 minutes for me, but in reality it was about 45. Good luck and congrats! This one was a nail biter this morning!!

Thanks, still sitting on hold, but I'm assuming sold out. I was swamped yesterday and didn't check in here thinking I'd get an alert. :( I've just never seen it show available times, yet be sold out.
Oh I hope not. But I will say that I missed the 4th of July one last year and I just checked often and ended up getting it booked eventually.
ETA: I see you got it! Yay!

Tuesday is notorious for MDE issues! I had to book FP for a client this morning though and no issues, thank goodness.

It's odd because the enhancement announcement was still on the page after I got through. But we're all good now! I think, fingers crossed, my stalking is done. Just have to wait on that 60 day window now. Then again, who am I kidding? lol We have a trip 3 weeks away I'm still making changes to.

We have one the end of March but I think I am done with that one (so glad F&G menus got released because I was impatiently waiting). We have one in April I am pretty much done with too...just booked fastpasses and it is a long weekend for just hubs and I but he did just tell me last night that he wants to do a Skyliner Bar Crawl on that trip. We also have our long May/June trip and I have to book fastpasses for that plus I am waiting on Space 220. Then FPs for July. Also need to renew APs after our June trip and book Oct break and Nov break. First world problems...lol.

ETA I forgot I am still looking for a later Yak & Yet in June but may just end up with a Landry's card since I haven't been able to find one. I do have a TP ressie finder set up for it (and Space 220) so I have time before I have to decide.

I was going back and forth, but went with the Terrace. I was debating between that and the after party. I have no idea what I am talking about, but I know its not a far walk, but it seems like it might be stressful getting from the check in to the plaza when there will be so many people there? Plus, if it is rainy, it will be better to be covered and having a seat after a long day will be nice. The plaza view does seem like it would be pretty ideal though... Hopefully I went with the right choice and won't be disappointed with the view from the Terrace.

Are the 4th of July fireworks different than the regularly scheduled show? I've heard the 4th of July has fireworks coming from all sides, a 360 experience. Not sure if this is true.

Would the Terrace viewing have an impact of restrictive viewing the 4th of July fireworks. Would Garden be better for this instance?

It is a different show entirely. I wouldn't do the terrace view for it unless that was all I could get. I really, really did not like that view.

They have always escorted us over to the fireworks for the before dessert party and escorted us to the dessert area for the after fireworks party. I imagine it will be wall to wall people, but they're pretty good with navigating through crowds. I'd love to have regular chairs and a table, much more relaxed and it's quieter to enjoy the show. But, the view is everything to me and I just don't care for the terrace- lots of people do though!

Walking from the dessert to the Plaza was not any trouble at all, they walked us in and there wasn't any problems, and there was plenty of room to spread out and stake your spot. It didn't feel crowded at all.

We did Plaza 2 years ago and yes it rained and the show was delayed, but the atmosphere was electric and everyone was excited so it wasn't miserable at all. The view was perfect and yes (spoiler), it was a 360 experience, breathtaking and a total surprise. I'm not sure if the Terrace seating would be capable of seeing the whole show, not sure what the 360 views are from there.

I have a reservation for Narcoossees and am totally torn about whether to keep it or book the dessert party. I am guessing the 360 view should be good from Narcoossees and I know the decision will be made for me very soon!!

Mmm also wondering about the 360view from the terrace.. has anyone seen a video?

I have done the Garden view.. amazing! But this year the seating and potential cover from the rain keeps me wondering which one to pick..

We did it last year, on the 4th, and it was very much a mess. It was extremely hard for the CMs to navigate the crowds. They weren't letting anyone else through the area because it was just so packed, but they tried to go with us and that was rough also. Obviously we made it but if one is claustrophobic at all, it can be a little bit of a panic (as it was for me). Once in the area was fine with plenty of room, but getting there was not easy.
