Not in this state. I would wonder if it’s similar in VA as another sounthern state. In Louisiana a high profile white supremacist would have a rough go at it for sure.

They can send him anywhere in the state, so I doubt the populations are necessarily reflective of any regional demographics of the location. Certainly in my state, a prisoner might request a specific prison in order to be near relatives for visits. San Quentin is actually pretty popular as a result. But there are complaints when an inmate is sent to some far away place like High Desert State Prison or Pelican Bay.
