Just realized that we will be driving into LA area on Oscar day....

We'll be driving from Las Vegas, leaving by 8 a.m. to arrive in Anaheim by 1:00 p.m.(?).

I don't have any idea of the layout of the Los Angeles area, or the timing of Oscar arrivals, etc. Will we encounter any traffic problems or anything like that?

Thanks. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

Dodie, you should have no problems with Oscar traffic...you'll be well east of the limos with the route you're taking from Vegas to Anaheim. :)

Totally off the subject, but last year on Oscar day we had a surprise party for my SIL. I picked her up in a limo as part of the surprise, and I swear every car we passed had people peering in, no doubt expecting to see some stars! :) Normally limos don't attract much attention here, but I guess on Oscar day people do notice.

I guess I just assumed that major events like this wreak havoc on traffic:

I'm from Indianapolis, and have grown up with the Indianapolis 500 in my backyard, so to speak. All residents of Indy know to just STAY AT HOME on raceday if they're not going to the race. We have a great traffic plan to get folks in and out, but extra local cars just get in the way.

Thanks for the reassurance (and the story)!

You should have NO PROBLEMS on Oscar day! LA is well away from where you will be--you should have a great drive, barring any other unforseen events!

Have a very Mickey day!
